I bought a 95 Volvo 850 2.4 non turbo 5 cylinder. Car had a leaking water pump and blown head gasket. Previous owner put head gasket sealer in it and it fixed it. Stopped smoking and losing coolant. Water pump is still leaking a little but I haven't car enough to loose enough coolant to hurt it. Car was skipping so I replaced the plugs but no change. The skip is unknown if it was a previous issue before the head gasket. I got to checking it out and the injector is firing. I checked compression and all cylinders but number 3 had 160lbs. Number 3 had 0, nothing. Number 3 is also the cylinder the misfire code is for.
I put a little oil in the cylinder and retested. It came up to about 50lbs. Spun the engine over to clean the oil out and retested. Gauge read about 15-20. Before I pull the head, do you think burnt valve (exhaust most likely right?) or rings/cylinder?
