I just dropped a 30K mile JDM B16 in my 93 Del Sol. I don't know what kind of computer it has in it but for some reason its running wrong. Its drivable, doesn't seem to be to weak although I can tell its not really running at its full potential. I've been told to run a P28, so I found a guy selling one and I went to buy it but when I plugged it in it ran even worse. Hardly any power, the timing was all off, the gauges wouldn't work or anything.

Any ideas on what I should do?

The car will run with the p28 but not very good you have to get the p28 chipped after that it will run fine.

Well the p28 i used didnt run very well at all..it felt like the rev limiter was set at 3500, it was extremely sluggish and misfired. So I feel like its some sort of other problem.

dont let anyone touch your car unless its a shop. someone tears something up, they can just say oh well and leave you with the problem.

what ecu are you running? hearing any misfires with your current ecu? fouled plugs? fouled dizzy cap or rotor? wires?

if the p28 caused that many problems then that computer was just bad . Also yake these guys advice atleast take it buy mainstream and let them look at it before you cause serious damage to your motor . I own a shop and can vouch that they will do you right what can it hurt to stop buy and atleast let them look at it and tell you what to do . What might be a easy inexspensive fix could end up in replacing a motor . I just got off the phone with guy off honda tech that burnt every piston out of a f20b by running a sinlge computer on it so yes running the wrong computer can mess your motor up even if its just a stock computer. I also run a 14.6 off a stock p28 on a stock h22 swap back in the day before i new anybetter my point is p28 normaly run pretty decent no matter what that must have been a bad ecu.
