Is it required to take the hunter safety course before being able to hunt in Georgia? Some places are telling me yes and no depending on how long the license last. On the DNR website I could just buy a big game license there. Is that all it takes? Thanks.

Thanks guys but I found on the DNR website that you can purchase 3 day licenses without a hunter saftey course.

i hope that's not the case since bow season is already over. it does not specify if it's just bow though. just shows the fee which is $3.50 for residents.

Apprentice Hunting License
(The Apprentice Hunting License is a 3-day hunting and fishing privilege that does not require completion of a hunter education course.)

Technically, bow season is never over with. Certain time frames allow primitive weapons and rifles. You can choose to hunt with a bow all season long. I use a bow all year.
