I would like a short bed but the long bed is more practical for me. I think it was a county truck, it was also fully dealer maintained though. So who knows, very well cared for.

What was wrong with the X-Runner lol?

Lets see: needed 5 tires, brakes all around and front rotors, radiator, throw out bearing and input shaft bearing on trans (was getting very hard to shift), front left fender and tailgate replacement, both side skirts on body kit broke, front air damn broke, needed one headlight housing. Minor things: all fluids due for change, wiper blades, air filter, fuel filter, floor mats etc. Drives door panel broken.

All that stuff can happen to any other car as well. Even Ford. These aren't Toyota-specific problems. Later, QD.

Very true. The Tacoma has also had O2 sensor and catalytic converter issues since about 4 months after I bought it, Toyota fixed it a few times and the issue always came back within a few months. Now its out of warranty and another $3000 to fix it again. In short, I was just tired of the truck.

I'm not knocking your truck, but just giving a rebuttal to the post I quoted. I'd have a full size Ford any day. I'm certainly not brand specific. Later, QD.

I know and I agree fully with what you said. I loved the Toyota but it was time for a change and time for something more capable of towing without the worries I had with the Tacoma.

Good truck choice. Bet the Yota tried to speed off on it's own, didn't it?

I've heard the throw out bearings in the Xrunners go out pretty quick. A friend of mine had one as a DD, upgraded clutch, short shifter, intake, exhaust. And he's always pulling the tranny out for something.

I used to wonder this as well, but I've come to learn that the people on this site will talk about anything that has wheels, literally anything I've seen planes, things that haul planes, and once even something that hauled spaceships, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, i like variety

word of advice on changing plugs. get the motor hot, remove all the coils, and put a HEALTHY amount of PB blaster on the spark plugs while the motor is hot and let it sit overnight. 3 valve motors are notorious for spark plugs breaking.

I used to work on these trucks daily, never had an issue with spark plugs not wanting to come out.

Nice upgrade, I don't necessarily agree with Ford being better than Toyota............but as someone said previously "I am certainly not brand specific."

My wife owns an 09 Matrix....... so I'm a lil biased.
