HELP: Need more info on the infamous D16A1....what exactly can i do with it/ problem

well i got a 88 integra with a d16a1 , but im kinda confused on what exactly can be done to them , being they are DOHC, ZC motor.....seeing what kind of powa i can get from it......maybe looking for someone that can rebuild it for a good amount. It runs and stays on but when you push the gas it starts sputtering so, loss of powa... i cant figure it out:thinking: it just started this, so if any of you guys have any ideas please let me know maybe i can get it fixed.....i was trying to sell it as is for 600$ but everyone tells me it has potential so trying to also get more info on it. i love the little bastard engines myself, i dont know the crank to rod length ratio, as the b16's is like godlike perfection so i hear, but if you think about it its a 1.6 dohc... do the right amound of head work, build it right, and why wouldnt it run like a b16 without the super cool vtak sound?

but for your running problem, the first thing i would check would be the cap and rotor button

1. Grab chain
2. Grab welder
3. Attach forementioned chain to motor
4. Weld chain to motor
5. Attach other end of chain to boat
6. Throw overboard
7. Fish


Other than that, build a B16 for it. Parts are readily available or do an LS swap. A SIR gen1 B16A should go right in.
