you know in all honesty a mach 1 may be close to the weight of a convertable gt simply because It has so much more options. larger brakes, differenet sways, probably a heavier motor, all that leather ect ect...so lets just say that your car weighs what a mach 1 weighs you are still gonna have to make that 2v stout as hell to run with Mike Jones. And by stout I dont mean add a 100 shot.

hmmm thats what you think, Saturday nite I raced a lexus gs430 cause some guy thought he could take me so I gave him the hit from the dig and when I shifted into second a 6500 rpms I spun past his car sideways beating him pretty badly. Man I love RWD!!

All I can really say is its just your regular Heavy Converyible Gt with basic mods. I understand that your not into the whole street racing thing, Im starting to get bored with it an all, You know about mustang you know what it takes for a two valve mustang to run 12s so just leave it to your imagination. Nitrous is something I'm playing with right now but thats leading to something a little better.

you act like there were fast cars in the parking lot lol. the next thing fastest to your rsx was my hatch(besides a boosted car) and thats not saying much haha. I guess you can get your head big again by beating 15 second cars. You are in the middle, you can beat the really slow ones but you cant hang with the big boys.

There used to be a guy that had a gt with every bolt on you could do plus a 100shot and could barely break 12s on slicks....so good luck with that.

and now to general talk houston, i have driven a cammed pi 2v, ported heads etc...it wasnt impressive to me at all, i enjoyed my nearly stock 5.0 more, my buddy whos cammed, intake, exhaust, and bored 4.6 dohc we just built is not that impressive, before you go snapping off at the mouth to people whos cars run deep 11's (darkstar) or even deep 12s (h22) you need to get yours setup and go to the track and actually see what it does, if you are talkin roll races, which is all you would do in the rsx, run some real cars...as for me i run local cars around my area and rule the parking lot full of 15 sec stock cars too :goodjob:

Find something that will be dependable and you can run fast times at the track. If you realy like v8s why didnt you buy a gto ? That is a great power plant to start with and run good times at the track. As much as you like to race and talk shit make something fast thats all im saying. I put a stock f20b swap in th hatch and run 13.5 all day long bone stock . nothing you have built or bought has come any were close to that see my point . If you realy like your car dd it and buy you something to make fast instead of dumping a tone of money in it then realizing its still slow and trading it in on something slower lol. I tell you what ill do if you realy want to make that mustange fast and do it on a budget ill give you guys number thats a real good friend of mine. He will tell you exactly what to do can even do it for you and tell you about what it will run at the track . If your not planning on going into the motor as in doing the heads adding a cam then no need to make me first on your list you will blow that thing up trying to spray enough on that stock motor to out run me but good luck shit talking .

i like the 5.0 too, it's what my brother has in his 89 GT. also on the subject, my maybe low 14 second Si vs a hardtop GT from a dig always has the same results depending on the driver of the stang, they pull maybe 2 cars at best and stay there up to 100mph but these guys don't have heavy mods on them either but 1st gear is a beast compared to a honda. now from a roll getting onto 85 up here i have been suprised at some GT's, or the lack of a good driver esp since i can cause one to hit the rev limiter a few times since my hood was at the guys window and he couldn't hear his own car. i don't think half of the mustang drivers know how to drive, just look on youtube and see for yourself.

There have been a few mustangs i have been scared to ride in, example would be a friend of mine used to have a GT with a supercharger with 600+ HP, the car scared him into selling it. I still prefer a road course over a 1/4 mile anyways so i'll take an AWD or a FWD anyday for that.

it may, depends on the power it puts down. i was only concerned going fast in corners with that much power in an open top car!!! it's probably still around the atlanta area unless someone wrecked it. someon put some money into it that's for sure. the guy who owned it his dad owned streetwires back in the day so he went from a regular GT to that. he kept it for a month and sold it, i think it scared him a couple of times. I learned something new, i had no idea they had a 5.0 in a 94.

I know nothing about mustanges but what i read on here . So from what im reading choustons mach 1 was like god compared to the mustange he has now and it was still slow lol. I mean did you realy go by a slower mustange is that possible do people realy do that ? so your mach 1 was a 13.5 car and your new mustange with 100 shot might run with the old one ? i give up you cant be helped matter fact im trading the hatch in on a kia next week just so i can be like chouston lmao. Dont say talk shit realy why didnt you buy a cobra ? Dont they run 12s stock or with just pulley upgrades and im sure you can find a good deal on one . if i messed up and bought a slow mustange the first time i wouldnt have bought a slower one the second time makes no cense just saying. Is it the breeze in your hair why you did it ? If you mach would have run mid 13s you should have bought it back brought it to me i would have got it strait for you then you would have had a good start just from what im reading you got a long hard road that could have been alot easier. going from a 2v to a 4v is literally like taking a dx civic and putting a b18c5 in it............his mach one may have ran 13.5's but we will never know because he never ran it. most ppl with 5 spd machs these days can run mid to low 13's on street tires and low 13's to high 12's on a sticky tire depending on the driver........he probably didnt get a cobra because a gt is $10000 cheaper than a nice cobra

Yea the 2011 5.0 is a dohc mod motor. The 03/04 cobra and mach 1 are both dohc mod motors the rest are sohc. The 2v gt motor can be ok but you gotta take those junk heads off older ones and put the newer pi heads on along with cams, some porting and a host of bolt ons to make the same power as a stock mach1 with exhaust. byt the time you spend that money you could have just bought a mach 1.

My car is 3250 lbs without me in it. It's as heavy as a foxbody gets. I think that chouston still weighes more, unless he has done a lot of weight dropping.

it is a pretty car . If a cobra cost 10,000 more dollars can you make this car run what a cobra does and have the potential a cobra does for 10,000 dollars thats how i look at things . Also financing 10,000 dollars on a car loan for 5 years im sure is around 200 dollars a month which is alot easier to do then come up with 10,000 to mod a car plus its still dependable. Drive your car everyday and build you a sleeper race car thats what i would do.

He could get the kit and bolt it on. Building a motor, making a custom kit, etc, would require a lot more money, and would require a lot more supporting mods, like fuel system, transmission upgrade, etc. The Vortech kit is attainable with most of what he currently has.

I have a Buick that I like to use for a daily. Very comfortable, automatic, great on the highway. I usually prefer to drive it around. If you're going to have a car that you work on, that's the way to go. I used to daily the foxbody, and still could, but I like having an auto car. The Impala is an auto, and I used to daily it, but a hopper is just too rough - especially without A/C.

that kit is 4,200 for the baby kit, my car was 2k for the whole stroker kit, 1k for heads, and prob another 1k in clutch, injectors, etc, but for convenience he should do a procharger kit, with some internal work and such a pully change would yield some nice power for sure...soooo chris get on it but a procharger or vortech

Ok, lets look at the nitrous option.

A 100 shot would get you up to about 360 hp, and 360-370 tq - good for about 1 second off your ET.

You will need a wet shot kit, plus an upgraded fuel pump. Don't forget that you really should invest in a bottle heater, bottle blanket, fuel pressure safety switch, window switch, etc. Don't forget to buy an extra plastic intake if you still have one and be ready to swap it out. The stock intake is bad about puddling, and has a low plenum floor. A wet kit can leave too much fuel at the bottom of it, and will blow.
Don't forget to run a 1-step colder plug, and tighten the gap some - probably .035 or so.
You might need to consider some type of ignition box also, not sure how your 2valve is setup.

That's my point. It's not just cut-and-dry. I happen to have a full kit like the one that I listed. I've run nitrous, turbos, and s/c's.

He should go with the 4v motor - he always said that he wanted to do it NA - no power adders. When he is done spending $10K to make 350rwhp, I'll drag him with a stock GTO... :taun:
