I'm giving my dad my 42" Samsung DLP since it's too bulky for my room. I'm looking to get a nice 42"+ Plasma or LCD whatever. Prolly plasma since it'll be cheaper. What do you guys suggest for a nice price.

Purpose: Hidef gamming (Xbox and PC), Animation, Movies, etc...So HDTV is prolly a must.

Theme color: mainly silver with minor black to match my Onkyo HT-S787S system.

I'm looking at the Magnavox 42" that BB will have on sale on Black Friday for $1,500. Is there any others that you guys suggest? Budget is $2.5K. Btw, my room is very big, like a master bedroom so a 42" won't be problem.

Thanks

Thats a good price..

I get plasmas also, BUTTTTTTTTTT

I dont post them here because not to many people can afford them on here. The ones that can, I already talked to them outside IA..

They come when I get a phone call. Please people do not PM me on how much they run me. Usually cost $1500-1700 a piece. All high end name brands. I have a waiting list of 6 people right now. So until they get served, I wont post any here..

I say get a Panasonic Plasma. It was the belling selling plasma of last year and was accountable for most of the plasma sales. They make really good TV's. BUT, you can't play video games on a plasma. Yes, the whole burn-in issue with plasmas is ALMOST gone. But you still can't play a video game on it. And don't think that getting a plasma with the extended service, which you ARE GOING TO NEED, will cover burn-ins b/c they don't. So no video games. If you want video games, get the Sony SXRD. That tv looks beautiful!! 1080i and all the goodies. I'll probably get that instead of a plasma

actually the sony sxrd is 1080p with a 19xx by 13xx resolution. they are much better than any plasma out there easily. but their pricy too.

but the 50" only weighs like 80 - 100lb's

Thanks guys.....I already got me a theater system for the DLP. I'm running kenwood 7.1 Digital RCVR together with Polks floor standing speakers, surrounds and subs, CSi3, etc. Truly an amazing system but too big for my room. I'll gave all that to my dad's living room. I too have the infocus projector setup in my entertainment room though.

I'm now getting the plasma with my Onkyos HT-S787S system with a pair of Polk R50s front stage. Should be nice enough for my bed room :)

Atif, can you let me in on it whenever you receive any?

thanks
