That's what I was thinking. Rotary engines ain't got nothin on this man. lol

wow smart ass. he meant 4.5k use your small brains
tps wont prevent you from reving high. all it does is make your rpm jump a little bit at idle.
sounds like it can be a map sensor. i dont see why an alternator would cause your car to die and not rev high.
where are you located in marietta?
i have a jdm d15b vtec in my hatch.

Yes I live in marietta..
Ima have to check my dizzy and map sensor then.
My friend said the car might be in LIMP mode??
Also sometimes when the car isn't in gear and one revs the engine the speedo needle jumps up and down

Yes it's in limp mod... Map sensor will cause that, not alternator and tps. Is it vtec?
Forgot, what ecu u running?

nstygomez

Yea is vtec..
Ahhh I can't remember the ecu I think is one off a y8 ima have to look at the ecu..
Where could I buy a map sensor? Or could I just clean mine sum1 said I could??

First off did you check what codes you have. If your car is obd1 and you are running the p2p out off the y8 you will have problems. Mainly the lack of a knock sensor and the CKF sensor. So that would be a considerable distributor problem. What year is the car?

Theycall_Metue

Yes he is right. Obd2 ecu won't work on obd1 motor. D15b are obd0 and obd1 only

I'm using a p28. Z6 ecu

The motor is in a 96 civic coupe I was told that the motor was obd2.
The guy before me didn't have these problems.
I gotta go to my friends house I left the car there to look at the ecu.

The previous owner of the d15 had it in a 96 ek hatch with the same ecu n harness I have I got it all of em..
He didn't have these problems unless somethin went wrong wen I put it in my ej6??
But ima check the map sensor and dizzy guys.
The ecu I have is the p2p..

yea the ecu is looking for a CKF sensor and i don't think you can put one on those blocks, if so i have 2 of them, also it will look for the knock sensor. i think they did make an obd-2 a15b, not sure about that. you may need a harness and a p28 ecu, but first check the sodes and post it up and we can go from there.

Hey guys I wanna buy a map sensor and spark plugs for a tune up since auto zone or those stores won't have a d15b in their system can I ask for stuff for a d16z6 my friend told me to since its almost equivalent??

^^^yeah same head. but you wouldn't be able to use the y8 distributor on the head since the bolt pattern is different on the dizzy. So you're gonna have to use either a conversion harness with a p28. But the CKF sensor on the crank pulley and the one in the distributor are gonna be a problem.

you can swap the internals for the base that fits for a y8 dizzy. i did this before on a 95 civic that we put a y8 in. i used a y7 base and putted an obd-1 dizzy and swapped it out so all the sensors and would work and the plugs were right wiring diagrams are your friend for this. your map should be ok, i have one for a z6 i would sell but it should be fine. if i have time i will look into the wiiring or post a link for a chilton's manual so you can check out the diagrams.

use this link, this is your service connector to pull the codes. use a wire or paperclip and plug it in to both sides of the blue connector and the CEL will flash. if not go to advanced auto or auto zone and have them hook it up to the scanner for free!!! post the results and this will help a lot.

. that is one of the smartest thing i read on your post. ....take it to a shop. Don't waste money on things i might not need. get a diag from the shop and pin point the problem

Ill post what my c.e.l throws out when I get my codes read.
After that I will probably take it to a shop
