First and foremost thank you so much to I.A. for supporting this event and giving us a place to bring auto enthusiasts together.

Our event will be held on Saturday which is a change from previous years. We are trying to accommodate some of the racers that are traveling long distances! Something we have discussed, but it is hard to find people to fill it. I honestly think this will be a class next time, but if it doesn't fill their will not be payouts for empty classes.

If you want to make a lot of test passes I suggest getting there early. We start the TNT as SOON as we are setup that way people can TNT until the competition starts.

Doubtful, that kind of vehicle would be a rarity and cause to much controversy. If it was different make/chassis, but not A/M I d consider something; AM is just a tight field and that could slant things to drastically.

Even stretched/lowered. Also if you don't know what safety requirements you need to run safely at the the track then I'm almost certain you definitely have not run anywhere close to that on a track or street.

Most tracks require a full 1 piece or 2 piece suit, gauntlet style gloves, boots that cover the ankle, and a DOT/SFI Approved helmet at the least. Some will check for functioning cutoff switch w/ safety wire. Hope this helps. Running a bike on the drag strip is a lot harder than a car. Even stretched and lowered.

What a great event, i missed the 1st round of qualifying due to having to leave and go get another set of slicks. Ended up running my personal best today of 11.13@127, i really wasnt expecting that with the 22" slicks. And got into the top 4 in MS, not bad for a baby setup ;) . anybody get major wheel hop off the launch? I head to lay off the throttle b.c. of this.. I am trying to figure out why I had bad wheel hop in 1st/2nd even with slicks b/c I never had this kind of issues at commerce before. Ran same psi in slicks and everything.. I also noticed I have alot of shit.rock debris on my slicks when I hot lap back to the staging lane.. I prolly need to do a better burnout to get rid of the shit debris? Confused..

Thanks man, last isd i had just got the car done and was still trying to learn it so it went a best of 11.7, but now with a little more power and the fact that ive learned the car a little bit my times have came down. We were spinning pretty good off the line and lost about 5 mile an hour at the eight but was trapping higher at the other end then we ever have . Im sure we could have let some air out the slicks and run some low 12s but we were running the best times of the day in the all motor class and wasnt taking a chance on breaking axles as long as the slick were spinng so we just left it alone . Had 94eg2 made it to the finals being that i saw him run a 12.9 you would have seen the little blue hatch make a low 12 second pass but no need taking a chance on breaking anything when we was doing just fine at 12.7 . Also 94eg2 i had a couple friends made me aware that me and you have meet before ? i want go into any details on the computer because im not that person but if we have meet i hope you have gotten a little older as we all do and doing good for yourself . Looks like we going to be racing each other and around each other alot. If you dont want to post in this thread atleast pm me so i will no if we no each other although im about 90 percent sure that was you.

i dont think the debree had anything to do with the wheel hop. I was also talking to the guy at water box when i was staging jimmy and he was stating that everytim they sweeped away the debree the cars dragged it right back because of all the cars going around the water box. I beleive the major reason of keeping debree away is for cuting the slicks. Im not sure if its the extra 80 pounds on the front end from the h22 swaps or what but ive never had whell hop. Im running cut stock civic springs on weapon r coil overs i mean as shitty set up as you could get no traction bars and the car leaves like a rocket and strait as a arrow so ive never change it . All my motor mounts are solid and the motor doesnt move in the engine bay at all . Back in the day we used to ratchet strap the motor down so it wouldnt move matter fact last year i ratched jonathans to beat spoolin in the finals lol and i know that the motor bouncing around will cause it for a fact other then that maybe some of the faster guys like spooln can help . I honestly dont think it was the track though.

i was running about 17 psi.. I have ran 19-22 psi at Commerce and have had no wheel hop... I wasn't trying to grab too much, so didn't lower it anymore..

Usually wheel hop is from too soft or worn out bushings in your suspension and/or soft motor mounts. When things are allowed to bounce around, they will. I would look into a set of aftermarket engine mounts and possibly replace bushings that are bad on the front of the car. Also you can ride the clutch a little if you remember when the car wheel hops, that seems to be hard to remember in the moment. I'd check into what I have said though, wheel hop kills axles and transmissions. Less money you have to spend on repairs the more racing you can do.

I'm guessing you missed it but after he was already knocked out he fixed one of his issues and pulled a 12.4@110. It definitely had more potential in it then what people saw.

If yaw would have made it to the finals i would have let some more air out the slicks and that would have been a good race maybe next time we will get to do it . i hope to be in the 11s by spring . i also noticed fuel leaking when i was checking the car when we got to the track and the bolt that holds the injectors in broke thank god for zip ties lol. there are about eight zip ties on the fuel rail holding the injectors in lmao.

Oh, I saw how bad it went left, but you also see me correcting it and driving it like it was a Sunday drive, not missing a beat, lol! We were side by side at the end with him getting a .558 head start at the beginning of the race. Believe me, I wasnt driving as hard as I could after I saw the red turn on. No need to kill the car when you get the win automatically. My only goal after seeing the red was to catch up with him and I did. I believe the car would have went quicker by tweaking the tire pressure and a few other things, but like we discussed, no need to stress the axles, trans, etc just to run a faster time. I mean, your dad might want to go pick up some groceries later on after all, lol!

When you said you had little trouble with fourth and i saw it spin and still run a 12.9 i was like damn get a few bugs worked out and you could hit low 12s easy . Im just glad you got to race ( because we all know you love to ) and my son got the big trophy lol . Im also glad i didnt have to do a damn thing which was my number one goal lol. I did have to install the zip ties though . I just realy enjoy it when everybody could come out an have a good time and get along with everybody else thats what its all about . Im not going to lie i have coaught some grief letting jimmy drive the car but its not my fault that people think if you own a shop then all the other shops are competitors . Im real good friends with charles that own main stream and ed that tunes at balance ,scottie that tunes at mainstream. i mean ed is a hard man to get up with and mainstream is closer scottie does great work but do you think ed gives me hell for using scottie hell no he dont care. If i thought charles had driven a cable trany before i might ask him to drive hell im friends with everybody and untill somebody gives me a reason not to be thats how it will stay simple as that. i dont care what anybody thanks. By the way the people hating dont even have a car to race and they didnt even come to the event there called shit starters thats all. Me and jimmy had a great time lol thats all that matters.

Well I have to say that the turn out was great and would have to agree with most people on here that I met some good people and had a good time. My friend finally got his mustang up and running and ran 14.3 on carbon fiber goodyears, 3.08 rearend and a drag virgin to boot. Not as quick as most but nice for a all motor daily bertha @ 3250lbs. Additionally I got to see MSS run their civics and Matt, you had a good couple of runs. Seriously think that car car get into the 9's. GAStroker is seriously fast... to be honest I was really impressed with the DSM AWD... Holy S*** that were incredibly fast and sounded good as heck. Just wanted to input that I had a good time and hope to see a turn out again... I am addicted. Hopefully will have my car up and running in the near future. Matt please check your PM.

Sorry if you caught any flack by asking me to drive. About other tuners, I will tell you if you feel more comfortable with Ed or Scotty, by all means please go to them. They are both very smart and can tune a car. I felt honored to be asked to drive the car and felt that I was capable so I accepted and I believe that I did the best job I could. At the end of the day, your son got a trophy, your dad got paid and an unbroken car, and I had the joy of being in a car that was competitive and consistant. You made the decision based on what you felt was the right thing to do and it is your car so who cares if anyone is talking smack. I had the best day I have had in a long time and enjoyed it! i think you did real good considering what i found out today lol. We had to put street tire on it and let justin drive it home so i could tow his car because the altenator got into the timing belt at the track. Well when we got to the shop justin said have you had any problem with the throttle cable sticking and i siad no but i did notice quit a bit of slack in it at the track but i didnt pay it any attention because all i did was pull it off the trailer . To make along story short i guess a couple months ago when i changed intakes i finger tightened the bolts that hold the bracket to the intake for the throttle cable. The back bolt came all the way out and the front bolt was almost out so the bracket fell strait down resulting in only having about half throttle lol which explains alot . JJs driving wasnt bad at all considering he only had about half throttle lol which would be why the car wasnt running as fast as we new it could but we won so no harm done and the bolts are tight now lol. Thanks again jj me and my dad will decide who drives the car if im sick simple as that and as much as i stay sick with my imune system completly shoot because of my chrons disease im sure you will be asked again . You did a great job and i had a great time now time to get this beast to the track and try bust out some real times.

I would love to see what it does with WOT. I noticed the pedal had a lot of freeplay, but I know every car is going to be a little different between the clutch, and gas pedal freeplay, that is why I like to make a "learning" pass, to see how the car feels as far as that stuff and other stuff goes. Should be better for sure. I am going to start a weight loss plan so if you need me next time I will be better prepared, haha. Thanks again and I will be happy to drive it again!

Im in no hurry now that i know i can get them so when you find the ones of the car let me know and ill order them then . I looked through the pictures and didnt see any maybe i did something wrong . id also like the one were they presented the trophy to my son . ok there are four picture i want but i just want them downloaded to my computer ill get them printed of later because there is only one i want to print the othere i just want to use for screen savers and shit or sig pictures so how much just to send them to my photo bucket ? i dont want nothing for free everybody should get paid for there work not sure how you normaly do it or just send me a cd with them on it 20 bucks sound fair ? Just let me know how much.
