I have the SSQV HKS from ebay. So its not the name brand BOV. Anyways I have been having a boost leak. So today I did a boost leak test and the only leak I have is my BOV. I asked my cousin about it and he said all BOV leak a little. Is this true ? Can I fix it from leaking ? Will I have to get a new one ? All advise will be helpful, Thanks.

so do you mean the o-ring that goes in between the front piece that you can screw off and on ?

Is it leaking at the flange ( where it hooks to the pipe) or from the bov its self? When the car is boosting, the line to the manifold should help keep it closed, also some of those have a set screw to adjust the tightness of the spring. if the flange is leaking, put either a O-ring in or silicone the connection,

Its leaking from bov itself, but I also found out that in the morning when its cold and i first drive my car, the first time I WOT I always build full boost, but then the other times I WOT its like 6-7 psi and full boost is 9.01 psi. What could it be guys ? Does my symptoms sound familiar to any of you ?

exhaust restriction could cause it if you have a cat clogging

ALL BOV"s do not leak. Try using some quality products.

If I wasn't building full boost, I'd look for a boost leak, which you already seemed to have pointed out.

I had the same BOV, the black ring inside where it purges was my issue. The piece that has the ssqv imprinted on it, when it purges the thing gets sideways and sticks causing a leak. But then sometimes when it purges again it'll unstick. Buy a quality BOV and don't worry about it.
