Ok so I have a 94 civic with a b16a2 in it with a p72 ecu but my vtec don't engage and the vehicle redlines at 5500rpm. It is also throwing an engine check light for a o2 sensor (but has been switched to new o2 sensor) but still same o2 code throwing. Only thing I wired was converting the obd2 distributor to obd1. Let me know if you guys have any suggestions. I'd really appreciate it.

did you wire the car for vtec? it needs vtec and vtec oil pressure wired.

did you get the o2 wiring correct? the black wires are easily confused and swaped.

also, since you're using a p72, if it is stock, it's looking for a knock sensor and the iab's that are not there...

get rid of the p72 or get it chipped. Big problems as far as mapping there

Yeah the p72's vtec should engage at 4400 and the Iab's on a gsr would open up at 5700. So on a gsr it's more efficient. A tune is essential.

or run a obd-1 p30 ecu and then you would have what you need. $100 maybe on ebay. someone is bound to have one here, i used to when i swapped my motor.

lmk when you get it figured out, my car does the same thing from time to time...but my cel was for a pressure switch, not a o2 sensor...
