2012 Ford Focus ST
We've long envied the Europeans for their non-sucky, rally-inspired sport editions of the Focus, and now we finally get one of our own. Although labeled an "early preview model," the 2012 Ford Focus ST ($TBA) you see here is no doubt close to what we'll see on showroom floors, with a sporty, aggressive body, oversized grille, four doors plus a hatch, and a 2.0-liter Ford EcoBoost engine good for 247 horsepower, or more than enough to let you see what we've been missing.

I think it looks great!

The Question is, is the drivetrain Rally inspired?

The grille would look better filled with a FMIC.

Even the European models don't have AWD. They're all FWD, however the European model has some special diff up front which almost eliminates torque steer. I wonder if they're fitting it to this model.

Looks like a catfish...I preferred the older body style, but it's still nice to see the European Focus here finally. This should've happened a while ago, but I understand why they couldn't.

Only problem with the picture you posted is that's the RS which will look totally different from the ST we are getting.

I posted that because I said I like that design better. I guess I should've posted this.

Well the thing about the previous European Focus is that it's based on the Volvo S40 platform. The Focus in the U.K. is a mid-range car, not an entry-level like it is over here. If they released the European Focus here, it would've been too expensive. No one wants to pay high 20s for a Ford Focus.

What people have to understand is we don't get half of the stuff they do because of our strict crash policies and emissions guidelines. Otherwise, we would have that shit over here.

The SVT Focus is one of my favorite ones that has come out hence why I have one.
