kolb lead the eagles to 3 points, while vick led them to 17, so who do you start? I would not pull kolb just because he had a bad game, what QB doesnt have a bad night. If kolb keeps up with not being able to produce by week 3-4, I would sit him down. Vick looked like a different qb, made more decisions with his arm, made great accurate throws, and ran the ball effectively when he was forced to.

Vick didn't do that great but I still would start him. Kolb hasn't ever had a good night anyway. Vick can at least run it when plays fall apart. He made some shitty throws though, like embarassingly shitty.

i guess the same can be said about kolb when it comes to throws he made. kolb forced some throws that should not have even left his hand. vick looked very accurate compared to how some bash him up for being so inaccurate. Bottom line is vick produced 17 points while kolb only produced 3, the eagles have a decision to make.

I think if vick would have started against green bay they would have won that game because you can see in the second half he produced numbers and if it werent for the coaches blowing their timeout when the clock was stopped they would have had a better chance at winning...
Vick should start

i think the fact that they started kolb in the 1st place is a joke. vick is vick. the most physically talented quarterback in the league. he has the strongest arm, hes one of the fast players period not just quaterbacks. last year you could have argued - well hes been in prison for two years maybe he is too rusty to start maybe he lost it. He proved last season on a limited basis that he hasnt. bottom line vick has gone to 3 pro bowls. kolb has only started 3 games. The only reason i can think of them not starting vick is political bs around that dog fighting foolishness. rothlessburger gets 4 games suspension for allegedly raping someone and vick gets 2 years prison for killing dogs plus suspended for 6 games. i dont know about you but i would much rather have someone kill my dog than rape my daughter but thats just me. kolb doesnt hold a candle to vick. not many quarterbacks in the league do.
ask yourself- how many plays on sunday that would have been sacks did vick turn into positive yardage?

Kolb isnt starting no matter what. He hasnt been cleared yet by the docs.
Vick can win individual games but look back over his career and you will find that he has really only led a team to 1 good season. It was a great season and the falcons were only 1 game away from the SB, but it doesnt change the fact that he only led the Falcons to 1 more playoff berth.

I like how you compare convictions with hard evidence to allegations that can't be proven. I honestly think that any player that commits a felony and is convicted shouldn't be allowed back in the NFL. They get paid millions to do what the rest of the country does for fun and if they screw that up by getting a felony, then they lost their only chance in my book.

i agree with you completely i wouldnt start vick over someone like brady or manning but i think getting the falcons to a playoff berth and going to 3 probowls automatically makes you more qualified than kolb. personally i think vick has all the tools but he doesnt know when to put touch on the ball and sometimes he gets into run mode to much and doesnt let his scrambling setup the pass and vice versa. sunday was a perfect example they would have one had he ran the ball instead of throwing it on a couple of occasions.

I guess my problem is i feel like the dog thing is petty. I mean we eat animals. We hunt for sport. I dont think killing a dog is worth 2 years in prison. just my opinion. i dont even think it should be considered a felony. It was crazy how upset people got. U would think he was fighting little kids. It was almost like him and his gang of idiots had pokemon battles with bald eagles or something. He lost everything, he went to prison, what else does he need to do. he is still listed as the most hated proffesional athlete. Maybe i am just the small minorty that thinks dog fighting really isnt that bad.

I don't want to get into this debate again. He is a pro athlete getting paid millions upon millions just to play football. He should have known better than to do something that is a clear felony, no matter what your beliefs are. He shouldn't have been allowed back, IMO. Granted, I am a dog lover, but he is SERIOUS idiot. He pissed away his only chance in my book. If Roethlisberger got charged and convicted of sexual assault, then I would say the same about him, and I am a die-hard Steelers fan.
Also, Vick was not only charged with dog fighting but also illegal gambling, which are both federal felonies. Huge deal.

enough about vicks legal troubles. He was convicted and did his time, no need to keep asking for the mans head. Big Ben did commit sexual assault crimes and that is fact. If he did not, than he would have never got suspended. As far as the eagles are concerned, they have a situation when it comes to their quarterbacks. kolb looked confused and defeated through the first half. Vick produced 17 points, while kolb only produced 3, and kolb is "supposedly" better than vick just because he has the label of being more accurate. IMO just being more accurate of a QB than the next man doesnt cut it these days. defenses are just so fast and in your face, QB's need to be able to move.

I get what you are saying about Vicks campaigns with the falcons, but at the same time he made alot happen with the little he was given. The falcons team of today (offensively and defensively) are stacked to really do some damage, but if they miss the playoffs this year considering what they are working with, than somebody is in trouble.

Absolutely wrong. He was accused, but there wasnt enough evidence to actually charge him with anything. Those are the only facts at play here. Ben was suspended because of the negative publicity brought on the NFL. His actions, like hanging out in college bars, are obviously wrong, but that is a long way away from being illegal.

Vick has about 5 seasons worth of NFL experience as Kolb has had 4 starts in his career. Kolb is going to look a little confused and a little skittish at times, but those are the growing pains with breaking in a new QB. If you remember when Aaron Rodgers took over in Green Bay he looked horrid for the first half of the season, but then it started to click for him and he made HUGE strides during the second half of the season, then obviously he was one of the elite passers in the league last year, his second year as a starter. Kolb obviously needs to show improvement from game to game, but you cannot use a single game sample as proof of anything.

This is exactly why I say Vick can win you any game when you look at them individually. He can make things happen when most others cannot, but at the same time, he has never been consistent. I have seen games where I honestly dont think he could have hit the side of an aircraft carrier from 10 feet away with any touch on the pass. I remember seeing him throwing rockets to the FB out in the flat with no one around him, resulting in an incomplete pass.

vick has a ton more weapons right now than he did when he played in atlanta. he should definitely start.

. Yes you are right, it was just one game. I say kolb should continue as the eagles starter, but of course 3-4 games later if he still is not producing, than you have to try vick out. I dont recall anybody credible being behind Rodgers like kolb has, which puts alot more pressure on kolb to perform. I felt bad for kolb having to leave his first game as the official starter though.
