Ok a friend of mine were having a long discussion about this and since we have enough parts to make a motor between us i figured i would ask. Are all honda crankshafts the same from 92 -00, i'm talking the d15b7, d16z6, d16y7, and d16y8. i know some are the same because i have put y8 internals into a y7 block and everything fir perfectly. i am wondering if the crankshafts are the same but the rod height and pistons are different on each motor because as i have found most things on honda's are interchangeable. i have a d15b7 crankshaft and my friend has a y8 block with pistons and rods but no crank. if we used the d15b7 crankshaft, a y8 girdle(part that holds crankshaft on) and used his y8 rods and pistons would it work or would it suck. reps given to all good answers.

thanks man, i see the bore and stroke are the same for most d-series like all 95-90 motors are e same, but 96 and up motors are the same, except the z6. i have been google'ing since i posted this too but all input is good.

yea the initial stroke might be the same. but the length of the rods may differ. and the size of the crank are different as in journal size wise.
like that d15 crank wont fit in the d16.
