Alright. I have a b20. And alot of people have been telling me to put in ARP rod bolts and if i have the extra money go ahead and install main studs. My question is... can i buy rod bolts and main studs for a Ls?? Would they work?? Also. How do i install rod bolts or do i need to leave that to the machine shop??

The B20 is an LS. Only difference is the bore went from 81mm to 84mm. Everything else is the exact same.

^^^well sort of, the block is of a different cast with no made in cast for a breather box like an Ls has, also they have a solid iron sleeve that runs the length of the bank unlike an Ls with individual sleeves. But as far as the rods are concerned they are the exact same. I have just put in 2 sets recently in B20's. ARP recommends you resize the rods when using their rod bolts(it doesn't say why it just says to). The main studs are a waste of money, but head studs are a good thing to put on now while you have the block apart putting rod bolts in.

Really easy if you have the engine apart lol. I have a set that the rods have been resized already on the rods. look in the parts for sale

this is not exactly true the 2.0L have thinner rod bearings or the cleat(tang) (different part numbers for both rods from clevitte)on the rods are different then the stock LS ones.when i was putting my 2.0L together with my scat rods i found that out farely quickly

The physical rods are the same. Bearing size differs.
