I just put this motor in my car it starts up and sounds good but won't idle and when it does its less than 500rpm. head has had valve job.:thinking: i'm just lost

Tried adjusting your idle screw on the TB?

i tried the tb screw, see wen i first started the car it idle just fine for 10mins then the rpms fell and motor died out ill check timing tomorrow and see if the map sensor and the tps plugs to make sure there not switched. car still starts up tho jus got to keep it on with the gas pedal.

re did the timing and car idles at about 700 rpm

checked all your vacuum lines/caps and intake manifold gasket?

is there any way to bring the idling rpms up i cleaned the ficv and the iacv no vacuum leaks play wit the tb screw and rpms are at 700 rpms

check your timing. make sure to jump the service connector first or the ecu will over ride it. also i think the IACV has to be disconnected while adjusting the throttle screw. i have a book that covers your motor so i can tell you what to do if needed. pm me if you want.

your rpm at idle should be 750 + or - 50 rpm so if you do the screw unplug the IACV to bring it up to 750 rpm.
