Georgia is launching a 30 day speeding ticket frenzy.

I-20 East and West
I-75 North and South
I-85 North and South
I-675 North and South
GA-985 North and South
GA-316 East and West
GA-400 North and South

5mph above the limit can justify a ticket and every state trooper is suppose to pull a car over and write a ticket every 10 to 20 minutes. They are issued 30 brand new unmarked Dodge Charger Police cruisers and are bringing in all of their part timers on full time.

Yeah, in turn, I am initiating "Operation Stay At Home". As an alternative, I am also invoking "Operation Do Not Go Over the Speed Limit 1mph Cause This Is BS"

they are always sitting in the same spots. learn your town and you wont get tickets there. when your not driving in "your neck of the woods" slow down and be cautious of speeding.

It's not like they aren't everywhere anyway. I drove to Clearwater through the night and there was a cop posted up every 2 miles, tops. Shittiest fucking drive ever. I was all alone and had to stay at 5 over.

I don't tend to speed alot of the time, but going with the flow of traffic is more safe in my opinion rather than going the ACTUAL speed limit.

I got an email saying this, and even if media news sources "said" its true, I wonder if thats even true. Going to the links above posted about the fake warnings in different states going around the internet, im starting to think this isn't real, b/c the email I got looks EXACTLY like those fakes, except the highways are different obviously. Im beginning to think its a hoax. Besides, I know where all the police are on my route, so im not too worried.

They are not always sitting in the same spots, i dont know where you live, but i wanna move there. Im in the dallas area, and I work on Due west. I saw the same cop pull over 6 cars the other day within a 2 hour span. I got a speeding ticket, in a unmarked charger, the 22nd. 59 in a 65. Everyone slow down. Until school starts. There are also cops that are rotating for the 100 days of summer shit. SO BE CAREFUL!

this is definately TRUE!! where i work @ SUWANEE I got pulled over for the stupidest reason! they had to call in for backup! Just to tell me that my I did not signal before I made a right turn, and that my license plate LIGHTs are not working 8D overall they gave me a warning only, About a 2 months ago got pulled over for speeding which i was speeding 88 ona 65 zone, paid that fee, and then state sends me a letter that I qualify for being registered in the SuperSpeeder system, which was $200 ontop of my speeding ticket $340 + SS ticket $200 = $540 down the drawn. Well I guess this turned out to be one of my BLogs now lol

According to a buddy in my neighborhood that's police, this is true. For the month of August, they will be issuing speeding tickets for as low as 3 miles per hour over the speed limit. I don't see any reason for him to lie to me, as we've drink together, went to school together, and are good friends. He told me for the simple reason to warn me. Cause he knows how I drive. lol.. Take it how you will and want, but this is going to go down whether you believe it or not.

Have a great day.

So, they want him to write tickets that will cost them money and break the law (unless he is GSP)? That makes absolutely no sense.

Georgia has a speed trap law that applies to all police agencies except State Patrol. Some of the regulations regarding Speed Measuring Device (SMD) use include: (1) cannot issue tickets for less than 10 mph over posted speed limit, (2) cannot use SMD on downhill road with more than a 7% downgrade, (3) cannot use SMD closer than 500 feet inside a changed speed limit zone (4) police vehicle using SMD must be seen by all approaching vehicles at least 500 feet or more, and (5) any municipality using SMD must have warning signs on major road at city or county limits stating so.

40-6-1. Observance of chapter required; punishment for violations generally; maximum fines for certain offenses

(a) It is unlawful and, unless otherwise declared in this chapter with respect to particular offenses, it is a misdemeanor for any person to do any act forbidden or fail to perform any act required in this chapter.

(b) Unless a different maximum fine or greater minimum fine is specifically provided in this chapter for a particular violation, the maximum fine which may be imposed as punishment for a first offense of violating any lawful speed limit established by or pursuant to the provisions of Article 9 of this chapter by exceeding a maximum lawful speed limit:

(1) By five miles per hour or less shall be no dollars;

(2) By more than five but not more than ten miles per hour shall not exceed $25.00;

(3) By more than ten but not more than 14 miles per hour shall not exceed $100.00;

(4) By more than 14 but less than 19 miles per hour shall not exceed $125.00;

(5) By 19 or more but less than 24 miles per hour shall not exceed $150.00; or

(6) By 24 or more but less than 34 miles per hour shall not exceed $500.00.

I'm skeptical of this whole mess myself, but mostly skeptical of how you got a ticket doin 59 in a 65! :thinking: maybe it was 65 in a 59? :ninja:

it was a hoax. i work in law enforcement and be aware that GSP, like all state Law enforcement agencies, do not receive any of the money from the tickets they write so they "revenue generating" argument is null and void. GSP also doesnt have any unmarked chargers. so thats wrong. i spoke to a trooper who came into my office last week, and asked him what he thought about this and he just laughed and said that "we do that anyway" he explained that they write close to 15-20 tickets per day per trooper and dont need the state to tell them to do more. especially when they dont keep any of the money. let me clarify that they dont keep the money because they dont employ their own judge to rule their cases so they push their citations through what ever court jurisdiction the citation was written in. this is in no way true or logical. sooooo lets let it die
