what the difference in grains??? i always been shooting 180gr in my .40 cal... pro and cons on more and less gr.

its the weight of the bullet itself..not the casing and gun powder...the actual bullet.
lighter i guess more velocity?? im a neewwwb in guns.

heavier bullets penetrate deeper. lighter bullets are faster. without dwelling into it, thats about the jist of it.

that wat i thought but some dumb friends keeps telling me its the gun powder...so patrick4588 wat do you like less/more gr???

depends on scenario. the smallest grain i carry is 165, but i carry a 10mm. I carry 165gr doubletap gold dots most days since im going to be in crowded areas. If lightly populated i carry 180gr swampfox gold dots. If im in the woods i carry 230gr hardcast.

the hardcast lead rounds are the deepest penetrating available. im about to switch to 200gr hardcast once i place my next order. 200gr bullet at 1300fps will do quite nicely. 750ft lbs of energy into your target with huge penetration. If a bear or hog comes at you, you dont want to just piss it off... here in GA, i feel pretty safe with a 10mm, but in other woods where there are some big bears, i would want a 454 casull or something similar.
