I went to the bmw dealer today with some friends and we met this guy that works there and he started talking to us about the 135i how nice it was, i have never really payed attention to this small little car, well after like 30 min of talking he asked as if we wanted to go for a ride on it. i was impressed of how fast and smooth it was, took turns at 80mph and didnt feel like it the suspension its amazing, i own a 5 series my self but this lil car suprise me !
has anyone test drive it or been in one ?

Never ridden in the 135i, but I have ridden in a 335i. Isn't it the same motor, just in a smaller car. I own a teg, so obviously it was very impressive to me

The new 135i with the N55 motor is a single turbo, not twin.
Honestly, they are an incredibly value if you ask me. It suffers from a high roof line compared to the rest of the body, so it's not exactly a dedicated track performer like an M3 but it's still very impressive none the less.
Cool thing is I heard the DCT equipped N55 135i is getting 109-110mph in the 1/4 mile. Not bad for a 35k BMW.
The 1 Series "M coupe" is coming out early next year I believe.

Like I already specifically said. The N55 motor in the the new 1 series is a single turbo motor. The older N54 motor is twin turbo. Depends on the build date for 2010 iirc

I'm a little disappointed that they weigh as much as they do. If the weight really matched the diminuitive size of the car, then I really think they'd have a winner.

Unfortunately, the safety regulations and the fact that BMW is focused on the luxury side of things is why we won't get a light weight version of this pocket rocket.

Well if it really has a 110mph trap speed then it's a fast car either way.

well a 110 mph trap speed doesn't really justify a lack of soul if you ask me. An M3 was never Vette straight line fast, and it didn't matter one bit. Needs a weight savings package for real enthusiasts, it's not the same recipe that got BMW famous

Times have changed unfortunately, everything is getting heavier. But weight reduction is the only guaranteed free mod you can do to any car, hell if I had the cash I'd buy one and strip it the fuck out lol. I always thought the E36 M3 was the perfect balance of class and performance, it's a pretty nice car and still manages to have the great sports car feel. Since then they have been slowly downgrading in that respect except for the motors. Just imagine the new V8 in an E36 body....omg.
