so i compiled all the pictured that are in my opinion the best pictures that i have taken over the past two years that i have been doing photography. Yes most of them are in black and white, but its cause i like that type of photography. anyways, look at em and tell me what you think! im trying to get to the point of printing them out for people.

The subject matter sucks, as in, most of the pictures are essentially pictures of nothing. My idea of a good photograph is one that makes me think "wow" when I see it and these are all very plain and boring. The composition/lighting is all very boring imo and some of them are out of focus. Also the fact that they're all mainly monotone is also boring.

i wouldn't call this constructive criticism either if thats what the 'cc' meant. i would put it into the category of just outright dick. your pictures honestly do nothing for me either, half the things that you post are out of focus, boring, not interesting at all. you do horrible angles when you do cars. nothing worth mentioning. any of the landscape photo's that you have posted were really lame. those sky pics you always try to post. HORRIBLE.

all im honestly saying is i take these pictures for me and me only, if people like them when i post them on here or other forums, then great. if not...no sweat off my back cause i still like the photograph. im not in this type of art to make other people happy, im honestly in it just to make me happy and if people like it along the way, then i definitely will appreciate that. everyone has their own style and way of doing their work. whether it be using the standard principles or not its that one persons interpretation of something that truly makes it an art form.

i can say that when you are taking pictures of stuff like what you are taking. It has to be super super crisp and make it feel like you are there, or it has to tell a story. And if not its just a basic picture of a tree. A few of them is just a bit basic picture, nothing pops out in them too much. And your logo on the pics is confusing, and is kind of an eyesore to the pics! Wheeltracks screams automotive, and im lookin at trees and flowers! Id say get rid of it until you have something worth stealing!!! :) it takes time to take good pics soo keep it up!

Just because someone doesn't like what you do or how you do it doesn't mean you have to get defensive and go after them like you did when you replied to his comment. Im not taking anyones side...but you obviously want to see what other people think or you wouldnt have posted the link. not really, but im going to take QD's advice and turn my cheak and walk away. but what you have to understand....is that if you cant do your way of photography then you will never have you own identity. just because i dont do things the way the everyone else and their grandmother does. does not make me a bad photographer. it makes me different. good or bad, i do it differently and id rather do things that way then the way everyone else. im not doing the whole, im trying to be an individual speech. but honestly, if your this way about photography, i honestly dont see you developing your own identity in the long run when it comes toy our art work and having people not like many of things you do. im just taking a different path. doing things differently, and like i said, good or bad. its just how im doing it. you guys can give me criticism (respectful, insightful, worth meaning criticism) and ill take it and listen to it. but ill still do things my way. doesnt mean im not listening....must means im attempting to develope my own identity in this artform. if it pans out, it does. if not. nothing i can do about it but keep on truckin.

I do have to disagree with you here, homey. Photography is an art form. Not only can interpretation be gained from onlookers, but it can also be obtained from the artist himself. If the artist wanted to conform to what everyone else wanted or if he wanted to make a living with this, then yes, your statement rings true. But if he were doing this for self-gratification, self-fulfillment, then you couldn't be further from that truth.

I personally liked the pics. The only one I thought was off was the whole car shot where itwas a little dark. I don't know shit about photography and won't pretend to but aside from that one pic, the rest were great.
