View Full Version : Any NA K20 or B18C Hondas want a fun run?

40th GT

Just want to see how fast these things are. The Mustang GT in my sig is stock, except for the KNN air filter and an axle back delete. My goal is to lose by 3 car lengths or less (yeah I said it).
Hopefully my preferences aren't too demanding:
Would prefer a 30 roll but wouldn't mind a dig run either.
Street tire vs. street tire
Your NA motor vs. my NA
Must be within 20 miles, otherwise meet me at Commerce.

Sorry if this thread is a waste of space. I'm just looking for excuses to decarbonize my engine.

You just have to deduct a car length due to weight to power ratio of the 2 cars.

A thread from me? That was a call out to other cars in general, not just to Hondas.
But yeah, most other V8s are out of my league because they're modded.

you should be a good run for a hatch with a b18/header/tune. On average those Gt's are trapping about 99mph, typically they can go 98-102.x depending on the year.

I ran one about 20 different times when my E36 M3 was completely stock except for a cat back and not one car could pull from any speed 30, 40, 50, all the way to 130. That car went 13.9@99 with a 2.0 60 ft

Do you know what kind of B18 it was? Because apparently in NA form, the A and B have no balls. It's the Cs you have to watch for.
But yes, 99mph trap is exactly what my car does, with a 3000' DA.

No it was a E36 M3 vs a 2005 Gt...

I was referring to a C, the one with balls. I don't think a K in a hatch would be a good race for you, with just a header and a tune those cars are going like 104-108+ depending on the weight

not at all....but the gsr motor only has about 30 more hp.....in oem n/a form they are all pretty weak. the real advantage to any of them is in the vtec b series motors, not becuase they make slightly more power, but because they rev higher and have oil squirters for the wrist pins (which i guess is directly related to making more power along with higher compression ratios) small displacement motors need to rev high to make power. that being said the gsr or type-r would be the ones with more guts you could say...i prefer the gsr simply because of a more tame compression ratio and its ability to launch my 93 4 door dx nearly into the 11's with 120k miles and zero internal mods.

make no mistake though the ls motor can suprise you.....so watch out
