If anyone knows anyone that may be interested in joining the Army National Guard but not sure, let me know. I JUST got back from Basic Training/AIT and can answer all their questions to see if its what they really want to do or not. The commercials and recruiters will sell you a dream. I'll give you/them reality. I support it 100% and think its a great, life changing experience. But, I saw a LOT of people get discharged because of dumb shit that they wernt prepared for. Anyway, in a nutshell... you'll go away for 4+ months (depending on what job you chose), and come back with $5000+ in your bank (more if you get bonuses)... then all you are obligated is one weekend a month pretty much. i tried to go but they told me i was to fat ,

6 foot 260 and 24 % body fat i benched 420 squatted 600 +

they did the tape test and i failed......

guess they ment too bulky ...

Ive thought about doing this, but Im in the boat as the guy above me, Im 6'1 and about 250, but im not really fat, just everything on me is big haha, so Im kinda hesitant to go into the recruiting office haha.

74D - CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear Specialist) ..... eh.... we havent really been useful since WW2. :/

Daaaang fatties! JK. The Guard is overstrengthed right now so things they used to give easy waivers for are hard to come by now. If its something you REALLY want, YOU can make it happen. Watch what you eat, and RUN RUN RUN. I can introduce yall to some military runs we did in basic/ait if interested. Before you go to a recruiter, PM me with questions and your goals. Make sure you got your facts straight before going in there.
