I believe it was BLK JDM that said this when I got my bike:

"knowing you Ant, in one year this bike is going to be ridiculous"

Well, I've had it for one Solid year this month. w00t...still got much more to do.

Those pieces of plastic and screws hold everyone else's parts on at 160+mph. Parts don't fall off if they are put on properly. Hell, if just the one screw only was on, it shouldn't fly off.

when the plastic is warped, it won't hold on properly. I think I know a thing or two. ;)

How did it get warped? It is molded from the factory. Unless you stored it in a different position while you were taking everythign apart, it shouldn't be warped. Even so, if the screw was in and tight, it still wouldn't fly off. Either you didn't have the screw in, or didn't tighten it, so it would back out.
Either way, now you have to invest in new tank trim.

Either way, now you have to invest in new tank trim.Probably from the sanding. I had to get into it pretty hard to get rid of the textured look. Looking at the right side tank fairing, the tip isn't being held on either. I'm going to remove it and see what I can do. maybe 3m 2x sided tape should help. The screw is on the back end of the piece. If the wind catches it, it'll rip that little piece of plastic right off. The screw and part of the plastic is still mounted to my tank.

You guys act like I don't know what I am doing so instead of suggesting things, you act like a bunch of assholes.

Ok, that explains a lot. You may have sanded it a little thin, try using some fiberglass to thicken it up, and get it smooth. It might help to start with new trim, which you should be able to find on the WERA board pretty cheap.

I'm gonna buy new pieces soon. The tabs on the front broke off so that's why it isn't holding in place. No1 even notices with sessi headlights like those. oww oww. lol
