I have a minolta xg-m that use to be my dads. I'm looking to update my set up but would rather not buy new lenses. Is there a digital camera body that my lenses would work with?

Some photos..

PS sorry for the shity quality my P&S is a piece.

Sony bought out Minolta many years ago. Word is that many Minolta lenses will mount on Sony's Alpha series (DSLR's), but you'll have to do some digging to find out about your lenses

These guys should be able to help you with particular lenses. http://www.dyxum.com/lenses/index.asp -or- http://www.photoclubalpha.com/forum/

Keep in mind that even though they might mount, the odds are good that you will lose AF (auto-focus), or that the consumer-grade film lenses will give bad results on a modern DSLR sensor.

My pops bought his Sony DSLR for this exact reason.....imo, it wasn't worth it i nthe long run. If you are going to want more and more gear later, I'd just get a canon or nikon due to ease of products out that are cheaper than the sony counterparts.
