Sorry it looks like HELL.

The cage isn't even legal with your head sticking above it and the bars are too low. The body kit is ricier than Japanese squirl shit and the wheels look like they came straight from Pep Boys.

Clean the engine bay up too, dear God...lol.

YokotaS13
06-11-2010, 12:04 PM
hehe, thanks simon! ill entertain it

Kit is the only one i could find that accented the factory body lines. The factory door line is carried through hte bumper and rear fenders, and i dont have to mold anything in which is a plus on a track car

roll bar not legal. Yep, you are KINDA right, but not really. even with your head poking out, it is 100% legal for most pro/am series. some not since my rear diagonals dont go to the strut towers, and the bar behind hte driver is curved to allow more behind seat clearance. But is 100% legal for road racing/autox

However, when and if i decide to migrate to pro/am the seats i have arent FIA approved, so once i go to an FIA Side mount seat, it will drop me down abuot 3 inches, putting me under the roll cage. so it has been thought of for sure. But even if i roll over how it is now, it will still save my life, i may have a concussion, but a concussion is better than nothing

The overall design may be legal but I can't tell from the pics, I just see a huge failure of passing the broom stick test at a road course event. As for it saving you now, MAYBE, your head is ABOVE THE BARS, unless you duck your head will take the blow before the cage. lol

If you don't have real race seats in it right now you're right though it will lower it, although those front bars from the main hoop still look low in general.

oh yeah, no doubt it wont pass a REAL tech how it is now. My seats are too high for it to pass. I know that for sure
With say sparco sprints and low mount rails, its 100% low enough to clear the roll cage. And without a helmet on and daily driving my head is a few inches since my seat goes back a bit when im not seriously driving. I mean, its a micro machine, gotta make changes for when i want to compete!

a concussion is better than nothing

WRONG

However, a concussion is better than death. :D But, I like. I'd drive it. It looks like a fun car (especially with the 302)... definitely not pretty though. :)

What'd you do with your 1.8 turbo stuff?

sold it all as soon as the engine blew
i have a 350z as a daily now, so this is th track car....
Once its painted, itll be really pretty, soooon

Well, the build has gone pretty bad up until here.

Problems?
Massive amounts of bolts i had to keep going to get, spending wayy too much time
People that say they will have a part, or have something done on a certain day, or fabricate something, and not. I had 4 major things that took 2-3 days more on each part, setting me back almost a week on fabrication.
I had to raise the engine and tranny, engine 3/5 inches, tranny 2.5 inches to keep ground clearance where i needed it. i will not sacrifice my ride height...period
powdercoating took 3 days longer than anticipated, engine mounts took 3 days longer, parts ordering, and wrong parts took a few days, still dont have parts for a driveshaft, still waiting on delrin diff bushings, and crap

but for now, it looks like this:
http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5149/5650201632_f204e418c8_b.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/yokotas13/5650201632/)
