hey i just picked up a gsr shell and the guy before me tried to shave the side moldings so he put this putty/bondo type stuff on it. im gonna finish the job myself so i was wondering, what sand paper do i start off with? and than the next and next? I also want to paint the car in my garage, would i have to sand all the old paint first, i heard the factory paint is best to just spray the new layer on because it sticks good.

let me know please, +reps for input, thanks

The first thing you want to do is check to see if the holes were welded up if they are then grind the red shit that's on there off that stuff is garbage go get some evercoat rage filler and some metal glaze sand filler with 80 grit then skim it with some metal glaze sand it with 180 grit sand around your area and prime it, once it's dry use 320 or 400 grit to sand primer and 600grit on the rest of the door then take your basecoat put your color on the area make sure it's covered and blended and last give your color about 20 to 30 minutes to dry and get a tackrag wipe the whole door off with it then put your clear on let clear dry about 10 minutes in between coats use 2 to 3 coats.
