City of Jefferson

My brother got his first ticket tonight for 17 over in a 55 mph speed limit over on 129 by the kroger. He never saw the cop-dark cop cars with no light on at 11pm. Anyways, gonna call tomorrow but anyone know how much the fine is(I can't find any info on the website). Has anyone had any experience with their solicitor(ie likely to get it dropped to 14 over and pay the fine)?

Not complaining he was speeding and deserved the ticket just really curious if they are likely to lower the speed on the ticket so it doesnt go on his record.

72 in a 55 will likely run a couple hundred depending on prior driving record and if the judge had his coffee or not.

Lolol. I guess so. I can't agree from a personal experience viewpoint, but I have seen videos of said cops. I have literally NEVER had a bad experience from an officer. I have always had nothing but normal (even good) encounters with them. Later, QD.

I use to as well, I use to hold a very high respect for them but after numerous issues and even harassment the bad ones are making me lose respect for the good ones.

I am with QD on this one. Personally, over the years, cops have been pretty cool to me.

I dealt with them once...the solicitor might as well have been the cop that gave me the ticket....didn't give two fucks about hearing anything Ihad to say and on;y has smart ass remarks for anything I did say....all while siding with the cops.

Just go to court expecting to pay the ticket. Jefferson city uses the Jackson County Courthouse for their days of court so more than likely if you talk to the solicitor or the officer you can get it lowered to 14. Just remember to be humble and most of them are just doing their jobs. I've been living in Jefferson for the past 9yrs and have never received a ticket from them.

On a side note, always stay away from Arcade, Ga. The cops there hold their own court sessions and will take full advantage of that. Arcade Police Department has also been under the eye of the G.B.I. for awhile now for speedtraps, and they write the most ridiculous tickets.
