I order a complete JDM B18B swap from a company out of Canada. They said it came out of a 1996 Integra.

I started looking at the Engine harness and it looks like its a RHD harness. The battery power cable is on the right side. Then I notice that the connecters that plug into the ecu is made right into the harness.

So I was thinking maybe I could just buy a USDM engine harness and call it a day but then got to looking and I dont see a connector coming from the crank for the crank sensor.

Do some OBD2 run the crank sensor through the distributor like OBD1?

LMK if this doesn't make sense

it depends what ecu u r using. if its obd1 then your fine.

the ecu is an obd2 ecu. i got a complete swap.

eg hatch. i already have the obd2 to obd1 conversion harness

nope ur making it hard for yourself. just use a obd1 ls harness and ecu because obd1 dont require some sensors that obd2 do....

or you can use the obd2 engine and will still connect 2 the shock tower harness. with that use the obd1 ls ecu .. ive done it b4

the engine is an obd2 engine. if I use a obd1 ecu wouldnt i have to swap distributors also?

you will need to swap dizzys or re wire it

crank shaft position is always in the dizzy, its the obd2 that require crankshaft fluctuation, which is down on the crank. however you dont need this, if you don't want to go through the trouble of getting an oil pump, sensors etc.. you can simply splice some wires together and send this sensor the required signal yielding no cel.

thats what im confused on. the engine is a obd2 engine so why doesnt this engine have the sensor at the crank?

just change the dizzy you dont need that obd2 harness just use the obd1 harness. and you can just take out the crank sensor out behind the pulley or just leave it hanging. your not goin to be needing it.

if i change the distributor out to a obd1 distributor and use the obd1 harness im still stuck with a obd2 ecu. and as stated before this engine does not have the crank sensor at the pulley

its just to compare signals, it has nothing to do with the engine running properly, as you can remove it and it will still run fine.

ok so the crank sensor doesnt have to be hooked up? just need to find a harness and I am set correct?

Yes. if its in an eg then it doesnt have to be hooked up, if its in an obd2 chassis it will need to be hooked up or wired to make the cel not come on. (assuming there is emissions.)

i have a spare obd1 ecu if you need it you will just have to find it in my garage
