Well two questions....

Simple and to the point.

1. Is the D16Y7 Crank EXACTLY the same as the D16Y8?
2. Where/who can port my Y7 Oil pump, how much $ to do it?

Reps and appreciation will be given! LoL

can i start by asking why you wanna port your oil pump, i know people do it, but imo it is stupid and a wast of time, just get a stock honda oil pump, as far as the crank im pretty sure the stroke is diff

well i now a guy who is pushin 23psi on a y8 and he still has his stock oil pump with 144000 miles on it, he built the motor around 75000 i think, i would go with a honda oil pump its gonna cost you but oem is best my z6 pump from honda was 174.23

for the love of God..Here....

If you're worried about the stock pump, Buy a high volume aftermarket. However, they'er are plenty of guys making big power with stock pumps. I personally would not do the shim port trick, simply because it's catastrophic if you don't get it right. ..My 2cents...

Toga High Volume pumps are only a little more then the stock pump. Here is the link http://www.importperformanceparts.net/imports/toga_oilpumpshonda.html

i put y8 crank, rods and pistons in a y7 block a few years ago and it had a y8 head so i def think you are good there. go ahead and put a y8 nead on it too and make sure to use a y8 oil pump or make sure the y7 pump is the same. i may have a few y8 parts left, i know i have no oil pump it was cracked along with the block hence it went into a hollow y7 block i had.

I would get a new OEM oil pump. Never reuse one from a blown motor.

Also, on the motor that flattened the bearing was it all of the rods or just one. What number rod was that? Is this the motor you were having trouble getting to run?
