Never understood why ppl decided to get married so young when they're still mentally changing rapidly and are inexperienced about....life in general. Hopefully you will be a apart of the minority of married ppls who stay together and have a fulfilling marriage. Cool proposal spot, I plan to do something similar one day....in abt 8 yrs or so lol.

we've been living together for about 4 years now. i feel like we've been through a lot of things that most young couples don't even think about. we've spent too much of our lives together to not at least try and make it last a lifetime. sure there's plenty of girls out there that i could have possibly met and had a relationship with, but why compromise a relationship with someone that i know is going to treat me the way i want to be treated? marriage isn't a death sentence. people act as if they'll never meet any new people for the rest of their life when they get married. i'm not going to quit forming meaningful friendships and bring more people into my life. i just know i'll have one constant source of love and companionship for the rest of my life now. where's the negative in that? i'd rather grow into life with someone there who understands what i need to motivate and propel me, than swim aimlessly. maybe i'm just the type that likes a sure thing? and to be frank, we all know that marriage isn't the same thing that it used to be. as much as every couple goes into marriage hoping for it to last a lifetime, there are always going to be un-forseen circumstances of an advancing people. i think the best anyone can do is go into marriage with the same mindset of making it work through anything that will cross their path. i think we're in that boat. i'm sorry you can't bring yourself to get close enough to know someone as well as i know my fiancé.

I've been with my wife for 7 years. Been married for 3. We got married at the ripe age of 18-her, 21-me. We're doing great with a 3 yar old son and a not yet here baby girl. I bet I've done more at the age of 16-19 to know about life than a lot of grown people. I've lived a rough life, mostly by choice, but I made it. The only way to get experience in life is to live it. I know a shit ton a young people who live life. And who is the judge that determines experience and inexperience?
Congrats to you and Christy. I hope you two share the same happy, enjoyable, crazy life Teri Beth and I have. Cheers.

Dude don't listen to the negitive shit. I have been with my wife for 14 years. 10 of them dating with 6 of them engaged and living together for 8 years and now 4 of them married. All it takes is for you both to have each others back no matter what. I could not ask for a better person than my wife to spend the rest of my life with and she would tell you the same. Good luck and hope y'all have a great life together.

congrats!
i agree.. the one thing I have against marrying "early" is that most 21-22 year olds are not financially stable. You can't get married and still depend on mommy and daddy to pay for college/housing/ etc. :)
Congrats btw.
