Well, me and the girlfriend decided to go down to St. Augustine for the weekend and went to the beach for the sunrise this morning. I snapped a couple pics of the 240 before we left. I am very much an amateur so constructive criticism is very much welcome. :goodjob: I have a Nikon D40, and I'm still playing around with it and getting the hang of it. I really need a tripod. I guess my heads crooked cause half of em came out with a slight tilt to them. lol:blah:
I also snapped some of the sunrise, so I'll just throw them in the mix too. :D

Enough small talk, on to the pictures! :)

My only comment is to leave hotels out of your shots. They're not very complimentary. Also, keep the car (subject) in the center of the photo. As far as taking pics of your car with the ocean as a backdrop pretty much only works after the sun has reached its apex and starts its downward descent.

I love St. Augustine. One of my favorite places to go. Later, QD.

Well his choices of background in that area would either be that hotel or the pier and I imagine the hotel doesn't look as bad as the pier does.

Alrighty. Thanks QD. It was a bit tricky to get decent lighting across the car.

Yeah, I love it here. We come down here and visit her mom as often as possible and I try to get them to let me move in every time. lol.

No such thing as a bad pier shot, lolol. A nice crowded pier or even a ramshackle one always makes for nice photo ops. I mean better than an old warehouse or parking garage here in Atlanta, yes? Lolol. Also, this is St. Augustine. There are PLENTY of awesome scenic spots there. But I can't complain much because at least there is sand in thee shots and not lines denoting parking spaces.

You're right in the thick of a sunrise so it will be tricky.

We go down there about once a year ourselves. I'd move there as well if I could. It's always nice and quiet.

+150, OP. Later, QD.

Yeah, that's what i love about St. Auggie. It's not loud and ridiculous like PCB or Daytona.

+++Reps back your way, kind sir. :goodjob:

photography class says otherwise.

Well, not completely, but having a focal point centered or offset are both acceptable.
