they allow u to run bigger wheels with spacers. also less likely to brake off.

but if the lug nut bottoms out and is using all the threads on the stock short lug, what good is a longer one if the same amount of threads are being used?

ok now that i can understand, but why do people run them when they dont even have spacers or stupid big rims?

A question doesn't state. That would be a sentence. A question asks.
Here's my question:
What's the purpose of having multiple sections when people just post wherever they goddamn feel like it? Later, QD.

They are stronger and less likely to break. You also have to use open end lugs...you cant use close end.

i believe a lot of tracks make you have extended studs. but this is just what i have heard. i dont know if there is any truth to it. ive never had this problem at sdr

Well drag cars have them for the following reason: If your making a pass down the track and a wheel comes off it helps the wheel seperate from the car, and not get stuck up under the fender causing a greater accident. If the wheel falls off the car will just stop,if the wheel aint under the car. But if the will stays under the car it can cause you too loose worse control and flip the car also..
Why street cars have them, i have no clue!!!

I have aftermarket hubs and brakes, they came that way. For pit stops, it makes it easier to line up the wheels in a hurry. If you were to cross-thread it, it's far enough out ont he stud to not affect it. It also allows the nut to get a running start with an impact wrench.
Here's a puzzler for you......count the valve stems......

longer studs are needed for bigger calipers, some wheel offsets wont clear the caliper then spacers are needed.
