How much does a decent gun cost? Ammo? Do you even feel the hits?

I have comfort in knowing when I hit someone with a paintball, they'll be feeling it in the morning. Not always, but on a good hit, you'll know.

Don't get me wrong, it looks fun and cool and all. I just like inflicting pain when I hit someone. It makes you want to play smarter and better because you don't want to get hit.

It seems that Airsoft pellets don't hurt because you don't even wear a helmet or face protection.

Edit: Nice pics, too!

Pat, I'd like to get info on that too. The guns look realistic, which I like. Let me know how much (for a good gun), how much to play, and when do yall do it.

See, thats the thing, everyone I know that has played paintball is sick of it because people do not call themselves out. Airsoft is more geared to the mature crowd and the honor system is taken seriously. We haven't had much problem at all except for a few little kids. If you are sure you hit someone, you call yourself out and grab the other person out as well.

As far as feeling the bb's... think about someone pinching you with a little piece of skin. Imagine that and about 15-20 bb's coming at you at one time. They do hurt. Sometimes they don't, but thats why there is the honor system. I like doing milsim type of stuff and the weapons are all metal and feel like the real thing.

Hey Jaime! If you want a real good gun, expect to spend between the $300-$500 range. Custom guns can go well over $600. Go to www.georgiaairsoft.com (http://www.georgiaairsoft.com) and you can see the selection. Chuck the owner, he is an excellent businessman and takes care of you like no other. There have been times where I've had trouble with the gun way past the 30-day warranty and he has taken care of me with no charge. Airsoft Atlanta sucks.

Usually play costs about $10 and we play either in Dawsonville (www.teamairsoft.com (http://www.teamairsoft.com)) or in Athens (www.georgiaairsoft.com (http://www.georgiaairsoft.com)). Both fields are a blast to play. I haven't played in about a month or two, but I plan to go play some more before winter gets here. I played the whole month of August and I had a freakin blast along with a few other friends. Team Airsoft in Dawnsonville usually has games every Saturday. There are a lot of ex-military guys that come out and play, and they can get pretty hardcore.

Let me know if you have any other questions. We'll need to get out and play!

Looks interesting.

I take it that AEGs are the best ones, right?

I'd like to see first hand what one of these things feels like.

Yes, AEG's are what you will want to use in the field. Let me know when you want to check out my gun, I'll be happy to bring it somewhere not so revealing. ;)

Who calls themselves out?

I've always played where you keep playing until you can't take the pain anymore.

Makes the consequences much greater. Makes the game more fun.

What's the maintenance like on those guns? Any problems like hoppers falling off or BBs breaking?

Hulud

electric or gas?

YokotaS13

most AEG are electric, most pistols are gas, a few sniper rifles shooting 550+ fps are gas, but are bolt cocked as well.

Well you play differently than most, lol. Maintenance is quick and easy. Use a little silicon in the mag, shoot about half a mag of bb's and let the silicon make its way to moving parts. Then take the barrel cleaning tool with some cloth at the end and clean the barrel. Thats it.

adn cycling of batteries, gas mag seals etc. Its really not that bad, my autocoker takes more maintenance after a day of speedball than a month with 2 gas blow backs, and an aeg

Sounds pretty cool. I used to play paintball back in highschool. I loved it, but it gets really expensive with having to buy all the balls. So how much are the BB's in these things and on average how many are gonna be used in a match?

Deaf Pimp

You can get a 5000 bb bag for about $15-$17. I barely use half a bag for the entire day.
