I'm in Mississippi right now picking up my 240 that we are buying. We are on the beach by all of the nice beach front properties. Well, needless to say......they aren't so nice anymore. As a matter of fact, most of them are gone or piles of bricks. It's really crazy to be so close to the disaster. I feel so bad for the people who used to live here. It's all gone. There are clothes ans stuff like that in the trees. It's like a scary movie. On the beach there are piles of metal....big piles of metal. I guess they are remnants of the houses. Omg! We are like driving right now and shit just gets worse and worse as we go!!! The bridge that went to the casinos in Biloxi is gone! The casinos are fucking trashed! I really can't believe this. It looks like a war zone. Chnco is taking pics. I guess he'll post them when we get home. It's still kind of flooded! I don't really pray, but I feel like I should for the people here. I can't imagine how NO looks. :(

Yes. We are driving thru it as I type on my sidekick. Omfg! Ok, so there are slabs where houses used to be and the houses are gone. I mean all that is left is literally a slab. There are piles of rubble for blocks and blocks and blocks. This is terrible....for real terrible. It looks like bomb went off at each house. It's very hard to describe how bad it is. When I say blocks of rubble...I mean blocks of rubble like 10 feet tall for miles.

Mississippi had nice beach front?

That sounds terricle, though. Very tragic, I assume, to actually see it with your eyes and not on TV. Later, QD.

I have a friend who's parents had 2 beach houses on the only privately owned beach area in Mississippi. She had before and after shots, and it's incredible. I'll post a link to them in a sec. It really is that bad.

***EDIT*****

Here's the links to my friend's parents place in Mississippi:

This is the freaky one....this is an NOAA aerial photo taken AFTER the Hurricane hit the exact area seen above. Notice that you can zoom in on the pic. If you do, about 3/4 down on the beach side you will see the remnants of a LIGHTHOUSE that was blown OFF it's foundation (beachside) and sits in a shallow lake about 100 yds BEHIND where it once stood. A freaking LIGHTHOUSE folks!!!! Zoom in on it and navigate thru along the coast line. You can clearly see house foundations, but no houses....just like my friends parent's house. It really is unbelievable.
