Can you compression test a motor that is not in the car? If so how do i go about it. thanks!

you need a flywheel on it..

put the starter teeth into the teeth of the flywheel as if you were going to crank the engine up... put power to the starter.. it will turn the motor over.. check compression with your gauge

the best method would be a leak down. it still wont tell u the comp but shit atleast u know the cylinders are sealed.

You didn't pay to much for that did you? You know its are carbon copy of the USDM B20Z right? anyways you should slap a GSR head on it:goodjob:
also if you turn it hand make sure you turn it with force or it will read real low if any
