View Full Version : B16A into 89 CRX DX?

hey i wanna put a B16A into my 91 crx. i know people have done this as a swap before so i would aprecciate any tips or links to really help me out. this is my first swap and wouldn't mind knowing the "does and don'ts" and what stuff to use. thanks.

hey i did that exact swap into myu crx a couple of years ago.... it was a straight drop in.... make sure you get the motor mounts... i used hasport... they were kinda exp but they held that enigne in there sturdy... but all in all... it will be fast and i didint have any problems with the installation

Is the DX Multi-Port Fuel Injected (MPFI)? If not you'll need to convert it to that as well.

yeh, also you will need the mounts and axels, easier to get from hasport but is a lil pricey as stated above, plus yours is a SI so your wiring harness should be straight

sory guys i meant 91 crx SI i had planned on getting the 89 but i found a better deal, so ne info on the 91 swap would be awesome. thanks

Also, the JDM B16a tranny has an electronic Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS), the USDM CRX tranny has a cable VSS. You'll have to swap the VSS off your Si tranny to the JDM tranny so the speedo works and therefore Vtec works.

PM me i can get AVID mounts which are the same as hasport for much cheaper, and locally too :)
