I'm not up to date on the Bimmer jargon, but I believe it was an E46. I believe around the 96's? Not the old shoe-box square ones, not the new curvey ones...the ones like the new ones, just squared off a good bit.

I saw him come up behind me while on 985 heading toward the MOG; he went straight on to 85. It was black, didn't see an exhaust so I assumed he was running open dump. Had a kinda smallish I/C snuggled up in half of his grill, and had the M badge on the rear. White guy, maybe had sideburns and dark hair.

There is a HUGE visual difference between an E36 and an E46 as can be seen below:

E36 M3 (looks a'ight):

E46 M3 (looks incredible):

You probably wont see many turbo'd E46's.. supercharged but not turbo.

Most likely it was an E36. No one makes a turbo for an E46 M3 yet only a supercharger, and I doubt someone in Atlanta has a supercharged one on an E46 M3. The kit alone for the supercharger on the E46 M3 is $10K. I have never heard or seen one in the local BMW boards. Now there are a few people with supercharged and turbocharged E36 M3's in Atlanta.

Nope, didn't see the wheels. Bimmers have bigger wheels from the factory on some models anyways, and they mostly look the same when at highway speeds.
