Long story short: I was heading down cox road, coming around a corner. The deer jumped out, I swerved, over-corrected, spun out and hit a couple trees. Sucks to be me right about. . . now.

Yeah I know I shouldn't have swerved. It was unfortunately a costly mistake. It was a big fucking deer so it probably would've been pretty ugly too. I feel like I could have corrected it too but then the tire hit wet grass and I was spinning.

paying attention and being prepared for the unexpected is what im saying. thinking like if you on the highway and something is in your lane. is there someone to the left or right of me so i can swerve without first looking in a emergency. and not hit anyone. aka being aware of your surroundings. THAT is was i mean by paying attention. not oh im in my lane doing the speed limit.

Sorry to hear that OP. But I'm glad that you're safe and sound. You cannot be always aware AND prepare of the surrounding every second (as the surround condition isn't the same). And most of the time, instinct will kick in. If someone come and tell me that you're always aware and prepared, I'd call you a paranoiac.

Also, it could be worse if you hit a dear head on, I've seen worse results. So think positive that this is a better situation instead.

LMAO @ that video. Sucks about your car. I know I would've done the same thing, it's hard to prepare for something jumping out in front of you, just doesn't happen everyday. What sucks worse is how insurance is gonna rape your arse after this. G' luck with this

and it wouldnt have been worse if he hit the dear. He would at least be getting a check for a new car at somepoint.

Sorry to hear. I hope it all works out in your favor.

I, too, would have probably swerved. Especially since there was nothing but road to either side of you.

Sorry to hear. I hope it all works out in your favor.

I, too, would have probably swerved. Especially since there was nothing but road to either side of you. two lane road with trees right next to the road on one side and a ditch on the other side. no where to go but the other lane. which is on coming traffic.

:lmao: would've repped you for the "zoom zoom", but I gotta spread it around 1st.

Dude, your analyzing that way too much. If you can do that much analyzation when the deeer is actually in front of you, then your a effin beast. When something is in front of you and you don't see anything in the oncoming lane, that shyt looks like a good idea. I'm pretty sure most of us would've chose the option the OP did.

the only thing i see in the pictures that maybe a problem is that crinkle in the rear quarter panel. but the rest can be fixed, but who knows the condition underneath.

Yeah we'll see. The trunk was smashed in though and the hood is bent out of place. I'm not sure if the hood is due to a crooked frame or just the impact. Hoping for the best best preparing for the worst

Consider this a valuable lesson. Next time hit the deer. Not only will your insurance pay, but you will have a cooler full of venison to eat.

It's a win/win.

I guess you will slow down on Cox road now.

A friend of the family has totalled two cars on that road.

You still had plenty of land before you hit a tree.

Slow down a little and hit the deer next time.
