just got back from seeing it. it was a OK movie i figured that there was going to be alot of killing in it, but there wasnt. Only 2 soilders died in the movie. But they cursed alot in it so that made me happy

ok so i was active duty for nearly 3yrs so i have a different perspective than most.

i went with 4 friends(non military) and the show ended up selling out. there were like 4 or 5 other people, besides me, who were laughing hysterically for most of the movie. i thought it was a friggin riot. my friends had the same reaction as most of you, they either liked it(but were a little pissed there was no killin) or they didnt like it cause they were expecting anohter platoon. i mean if you've never had to stand online and hydrate, you just wont get it. i think it ended up havin a good message too.

i really think most people were expecting another platoon or full metal. those movies were true to their time, this movie was true to its time. ask anyone who was in sandbox1 and they will tell you thats exactly how it was.

I saw it and I thought it was an awesome movie...I think if you have military background, you appreciate the movie more than the average joe, because you understand that is how those things play on your psyche. the end really hit me hard because I lost a friend over there, and it hurt to see the guy in a casket, because it made me think of him...the whole movie made my girlfriend cry because it reminded her that is what I wanted to do.

I went in thinking it was a war movie, (sure it was set during the first gulf war) but it wasn't what I expected. No killing, more life in the marines. Good movie - sorta followed the story line of Full Metal Jacket.

Exelent movie. But my friends dad saw it and he served in that war and absolutely hated it. He got real pissed and flipped on the manager for his money back. I can understand what he means but its just a movie. But what he told me is that was absolutely nothign even close to what happened. Its sad.
