Turbo... I can sell you most of a kit that will get you there, just need turbo and injectors, a couple lines, and a tune.

boost is your best friend, N/A will top out at around 150fwhp
boost a single cam with stock internal may very but most get up to around 250fwhp before upgrading internals

since your posting in the n/a forum, im guessing you dont want to go turbo... You need to bump up the compression get a moderate size cam and then run spray. It'll take alot of money and work to make the single cam reach 200whp n/a i.e. larger bore, make it a stroker motor, big cam, and lots of head work and tuning. I'll be happy with 140-150whp out of my setup that I'm working on now.

It's been done. It will be done again. And it will continue to be done. Stock D16's on 8lbs are good for anywhere between 180whp to 210 depending on size of the turbo... 10lbs and your talking 210-230ish... 12lbs and your talking 230-250ish Depending how aggressive the tune is and how big the turbo is. These are stock motors with just bigger injectors added. Now as you up the boost your reliability and longevity are obviously going to decrease but it's the pro's and cons you have to weigh. Main Stream would be a good place to start as far as boosting single dingles goes... I believe one of the guys there owns a boosted D that he's been dailying for a long time now. I personally had them do a D15b setup on a T3/T4 That made 208 on 8lbs that ran good for a long while. But yeah if you want 200 hp and your on a "Budget" boost will be your friend... just don't skimp on the tuning because that's where your money will be best invested. Oh yeah and most of that kit I still have and am still selling if you are interested, PM and I can give you a good price.

OH yeah and one more beautiful thing about the Boosted D series... If it does blow... It's $300-400 for a "new" block. And even at that point if you are serious about the boost, now you have a reason to build the block and shoot for 15+ PSI and get yourself 250-275 whp.
