WHY are some/most of you people on here, here? I've seen people posting for YEARS and have yet to see them post anything about cars. They just post in the whoreslounge and every other section thats not automotive related. Pretty weird to me...

I rarely in a car-related threads anymore, because there is always some internet douche that "knows more/better" than my 20 years of modding cars can offer.

^^^ people say that...

but why don't you plz post examples.... of these "n00bs" no one will ever call someone out

I don't think n00bs are ruining the place really.. Some of them just aren't used to being on a forum... Which is one good thing about IA, lotsa people I know broke their "forum virginity" on IA- it was their first forum... So of course they won't know forum ettiquette, and how not to get flamed, whats taboo and whats not, etc.. At the end of the day, a n00b is a person just like 'Mr. I've been on here for 9 years', If you alienate them, there is no way IA will get "better"... Just flame them lol, constructively like we were flamed when we were new.... if anything n00bs should bring you lulz

IA is changing for the worse? I dont think so Things change, thats a part of life... theres no way IA will be like how it was years ago, just like theres no way your life can be just like it was in high school for example.

shit changes with time.... JDM went from OMGCOOL to OMGLAME to this to that, trends, drifting came and went... 2jz's in 240s were hot shit for a while etc etc.
Just like IA- its the same, the people on it may be changing, getting older, new people joining, new trends in cars, new internet fads (lolis/pedobears/lolcats/GNAA/,etc) but that has nothing to do with IA- The board layout (with the exception of the for sale forum) has been very similar to how it is now... IA itself is the same, the internet and its people have evolved, more people are on the internet than before, etc shit has just evolved, thats just the way the interwebs work....blame Al Gore for that shit.

That's what happened to me. The car scene started to bore me. I went through nearly 50 cars in 5 years, have owned and modded almost anything I ever wanted realistically, and frankly it just doesn't do anything for me anymore. I have a nice, comfortable 4 door truck that runs the speed limit just fine, pulls my race trailer, and is useful unlike some of my faster cars I've owned. I'm sure I'll build another car one day but for the time being I have no interest in doing so.

If it wasn't for my friends I've met over the years I would probably never be on here anymore.

Well over the past several years, IA has gone from an automotive based forum with off-topic sections to an off-topic forum with a few automotive sections. This has become more of an open Facebook type of thing now with all walks of life joining on here. Later, QD.

I joined to learn new things and see what kinds of things others were up to with their cars.

The thing that's sad is a lot of people new to cars and turning wrenches come on here and ask questions, only to get flamed. That's part of learning. We have all been there. You shouldn't be scared to ask about something you are unsure about because you don't want to be made fun of by the Jackass who knows nothing.

It used to be ALL about cars when I first joined up. Not about how much shit you can talk or how well you can type. B/c who gives a fuck how well you can type if you can turn a wrench and you are doing it yourself? The appreciation level of peoples cars has gone down considerably.

I do agree though. About 50% of the ACTIVE members stay in WL only or CAR PICS. There are a few good members that go into G.T., F.I., All Motor, etc.. and help one another out. I believe Barefoot gets a ton of credit for that as does Vteckidd. But Barefoot has actually gone to peoples houses (before he was a sponser) and didn't know the members to help them out. :goodjob: His sponsership should be free. ;)

Well, coming from a new kids stance, I joined to learn what I could about cars given the fact my parents think working on cars is dumb, and I can't afford school. I constantly read the General Tech, DIY, All Motor, etc. but I don't post in there unless I have a question. I feel like I'm not knowledgeable to give sound mechanical advice, so I just shut up. That leaves WL and Car Pics for me to chat it up. If my Plymouth hadn't been utterly destroyed I can assure you that I'd have several posts getting "flamed" for asking questions.
