Need Help With Car Title

My parents bought me a Blazer recently. The title has the previously owners name Ex: John S. Smith, but is signed over with Ex: Stewart Smith.

It is obvious the person goes by their middle name, but will I be able to register it with it signed like that or do I have to do something else? Will Rep.

no. have to get a power of attorny from the tag office and sign his name the correct way (don't tell them you are going to do this) run it back up there and you should be good. i've had to do this before but i live in a small town and they are not real strict on some things.

How do I go about doing that? I have never had any problems with a title before so I am a noob with dealing with this stuff.

go to your local tag office and tell them that you have a tittle that was signed wrong and that you need the paper work to fix it (power of attorney) then leave with it and just fill it out with the name on the title.

now i have heard that they now ask for the previous owners licence number but i'm not totaly sure on this. so you may have to contact the owner and get some info from him.
