Why does it seem like recently, more of my friends with boosted cars are having alotta problems with overheating?? And the fact that it is getting warmer, can't really be a factor since the hottest day we've had recently was maybe 89degrees.

maybe all your friends do half ass setups......... maybe they all have the same person doing their work.... maybe its just bad luck.....

They are using the right size intercooler for their set-up? And have they upgraded their cooling systems? New hoses, lower temp thermostat, and better cooling radiator.

When you up the power level of an engine, it will produce more heat. Also slapping a turbo under the hood of a car that has no ventilation provisions with no heat isolation for the turbo will also contribute. There really are a lot of potential problems and each on of your friends could have issues for a different reason. There's a great number of possibilities.

A proper designed turbo kit will take into consideration the restriction of the IC, and if needed a hi-flow water pump, air ducting, and even external help from electrical fans..

If your friends have turbo charged hondas, I bet the Turbo is seating right by the radiator, so using heat rap, ducting, air scoops to create a hi/low pressure zone will help fighting those temps....

Well, one of them was a boosted Honda and the other one was a boosted 240... I was just wondering about the temperature issues in GENERAL, as to if things usually just tend to run hotter. Something that I've heard of some people doing sometimes is just completely removing their thermostat from the system at all so that the water temperatures just continuously stay down low. Is there any sort of danger in running like this? (other than the fact that most engine internals may or may not be up to temperatures, or expanded properly...)

Tell them to check all hoses, new t-stat, radiator could be clogged, water jackets could be clogged, head gasket could be leaking. There are a ton of things that could cause a car to over heat.

you realize Air isnt the same in winter and summer right? density changes.

Also the warmer the ambient air temperature, the higher the IAT temps which means the hotter the motor gets which means the more chance you have for detonation. Sounds like their cars arent tuned right, arent tuned at all, or need a touch up

yup. ur prob right as always. i plan on getting mine tuned for the summer months haha
