This event was Hilarious. The fights leading up to the three main event fights were good, solid fights. But onto the the big 3.

Hughes dominated that punk Gracie. I have never liked the Gracies because they are so god damn confident, yet seem to get their asses beat by good fighters. I am sick of seeing Gracies fight. Long live the Gracie Hunter.

Alright, Bj Penn Vs Frankie Edgar. That was a good, close fight. But from what I saw(I watched the fight 3 times) Bj Penn won hands down. BJ looked like he didn't care about the fight, that he was tired, that he lost interest in the belt, but either way, he won that fight hands down. The fucking judges are a joke. Frankie won two rounds at BEST. He does not deserve the belt for the simple fact he did not beat Penn. I think Penn is more interested in 170lbs now. I mean good fucking god though, one judge scored it 45-50...I mean seriously, simply pathetic judging. BJ landed more strikes, period. and Edgar one lowsy takedown the entire fight, yet got rejected for over ten. Takedowns are useless unless you use them, and edgar didn't use the one he got. This judging just makes me sick.

Silva Vs The bum maia. First off, Maia had no business being in the ring with Silva, and never did. It's not Maia's fault for being matched up with Silva, but the UFC fucked up royally making that fight. I mean the hype before the fight was comical, saying Maia had any kind of chance actually winning. I think Silva felt disrespected and annoyed with being matched up with such a inferior opponent, and that's why he did what he did tonight. He toyed with Maia as if that was his pro debut. He made a game out of it. He outclassed that guy worst than I have ever seen in a fight, Especially a title fight. Dana cried like a little baby because Silva made a statement about sending such a useless fighter in the ring with him, and voiced his bitchassness during the post fight press conference. He should of manned up and admited it was the fight organizers that fucked this one up, not Silva. If Dana and the gang really think deep in their hearts that Maia was the number one contender(outside of vitor pulling out because of surgery) then that shows that no one at 185lbs in the ufc has any chance in hell against Silva, and every fight he is in will be a circus act. Dana needs to man up and set up a the fight with GSP and with the winner of Shogun/machida. Silva owns 185lbs...It's time for him to own the other two belts as well. Sucks for Dana that his last two "huge" cards have failed and blew up in his face...maybe now he will get a clue.

Don't leave out Dan Henderson and Rich Franklin, two very, very good fighters among the group Anderson Silva has smashed. I would like to see Anderson fight some people at 205. In my opinion though, your list is a bit flawed. Randy Couture would have zero chance, and I do mean Zero. I am a fan of his, but facts are facts. Rua/Machida would both be interesting and entertaining fights for Silva. I think Rampage would get beat, and I am a huge Rampage fan and have been since his pride days. Rashad Evans wouldn't have a chance in hell, and I hope Rampage knocks his ass out. The gsp fight would be interesting, but GSP is at a disadvantage in a lot of aspects. The stand up isn't even comparable, the reach would be insanely off balance, I think Silva is a tad bit quicker(to run from take down attempts) and the strength would be a toss up. I would like to see the fight though. Either way, we need more interesting fights set up for one of the pound for pound best fighters in the world. Hell Silva said he would drop to 170lbs to fight GSP and that is just insane because he walks around at 220lbs...

Anyways, UFC 112 was a disappointment overall considering the hype. Hell the last couple UFC events have been lame really. K1/Dream/Strikeforce have been much much better lately, yet K1 is always better. I am going to the Tennessee Strikeforce event to Cheer on Aoki, should be a good card, with Hendo fighting, and Gegard finally fighting someone interesting. UFC needs to get their shit together.

Silva can be beaten, against a hard hitting knock out artist w/ alot of ambition. Dont know who that would be atm but let me get back w/ that.

I dont know why you think Penn landed more shots....he landed a lot less, but they counted more. Edgar deserved the win because Penn gave the impression that he didn't give a fuck. Edgar's performance in itself was more impressive. Penn wasn't the superhuman cardio machine we typically see. And not taking the fight to the ground? Are you serious? He had a stupid strategy and that's not what wins fights obviously.

Bottom line, Penn will win the rematch by round 2.

L O FUCKING L at Maia being a joke. The best god damned BJJ fighter in the WORLD is a joke? Anderson Silva is a JOKE after last night. Don't think for one second that Silva was not scared to go to the ground with him. Why the hell do you think he didn't try to rain bombs when he knocked him down, cause he didn't want to get his arm caught and broke. Get off Silva's nuts and understand fighting. Silva had many chances to end the fight, but they were chances he wasn't willing to take. Yes the fight sucked, but what did anyone expect when you have the worlds best striker vs. the worlds best in BJJ, a snoozefest.

Agree completely. Penn looked bored for the entire fight, maybe he was getting complacent again? That complacency got him beat by Pulver also. I dont know what it is with Penn, but sometimes he needs a wake up call. This was definitely NOT the same BJ we saw when he fought Sean Sherk, Kenny Florian, or Diego Sanchez, all of who I think are better fighters than Edgar.

Maybe this is what the UFC wanted though? Set up the fight for a rematch in 6 or 8 months? Even today, if BJ was champ still, I would say that the only fights for the belt worth watching were in 205. Spider, GSP, Lesner, and Penn are far and away the best fighters at their weight.

Maia is very talented, but Silva is the master of controlling a fight. He wont end it until he wants to....I doubt he cares about it being exciting for people to watch anymore. It seems like he enjoys toying with people more than knocking them out. He just wants to stay undefeated, and he very well could until he retires. And it's not like he wouldn't have had a chance on the ground, he is one sheisty motherfucker.

I give Silva all the credit he deserves, however I have no respect for him after that fight. I still believe he wanted none of Maia's ground game and will not be convinced otherwise. His showboating is shameful, especially when he can't finish. I mean come on does anyone really believe he doesn't respect himself enough that he is gonna taunt and showboat then not finish. Hell no, he underestimated him and then tried to rehash the situation in the middle of the fight after it sank in how dangerous Maia is on the ground. It's that simple. Silva genuinely embarrassed himself and he knew it. He didn't even try to clench because he didn't wanna get close enough to get trapped. Common sense.

^ LOL u can't be serious? I watched the other fights where silva did the same thing but not as bad.I give maia credit he is talented but i honestly think there are alot of ppl that would beat him that have already fought silva.I think silva has just got so comfortable with his game he just don't give a fu** what any 1 else thinks because at the end of the day he is such a well rounded fighter every guy that gets in ring with him fear him in some kind of way.I say why should dana get mad when he the 1 set the lousy fight up thinking maia was going to shock the world but end up being clowned on.

BOTTOM LINE
He had no business fighting A silva because every fight starts standing and he is to slow to take silva down to do any damage.

Sounds like someone bought into the advertisements a bit too much. Maia is a joke. Did you not watch the fight? Did it look like Silva was in any kind of trouble at all during the entire fight? This isn't a BJJ contest, it is a fight. Why would Silva choose to go to the ground when he is a stand up expert? He isn't retarded. You can obviously be the "worlds best BJJ fighter"(which he isn't in my book, I would say Aoki is better than Maia because he actually takes risks to take down people) and still get toyed with like a little girl from the world's best striker. Maia needed to take the fight to the ground, but couldn't because he has no take down skills or wrestling good enough to do so. Maia had no business being in the cage with someone like Silva. They didn't have anyone else to throw in at the moment because of Belfort being injured, so they picked that bum that recently got knocked the fuck out. You must be one of those Gracie nut huggers, and think BJJ rules mma. Well guess what, it doesn't. I bet it broke your little BJJ loving heart to see your best get toyed with like a bitch, didn't it?

I agree Penn deserved to lose the belt, because it seemed he did not give a shit during the fight. Penn did land more effective strikes though, go back and watch the fight, and count them up. Either way, Edgar will be a short lived champion. Kenflo will destroy him, maynard has already bested him(and deserved the title shot more IMO), and When Penn feels like showing up, he will win.
