Thanks. I was more of asking if anyone has witnessed this in action, or knew of someone that has done this. Any success stories, ya know?

dupli- color makes carpet die in a spray paint can,i havent used it before but heard good things about it, i think some guy did it and put it on honda tech,

ive done that, it doesnt last. actual dye works much much better.

Dyes and sprays look great for a while but the color will wear off after time. I just got new black carpet from here: http://www.stockinteriors.com

Its pre-molded just need to make a hole for the shifter etc...

It says it made with materials from Dalton, GA. I wish that's where they were located. It's about 20 mins from me.

LOL i tried that once. That might work in something you dont drive much. In a daily it lasts about a month or 2 before it starts looking like ass...especially if the carpet started out light grey and you paint it black.
