Just wanted to give you guys a heads up....I have friends who work for GSP, MPD, JCSO, & BSO who can pull me some strings and are always looking out for me shooting info my way.

I don't normally share this info with anyone but immediate family but I'm figuring since this is going to be a prolonged thing it will get out eventually

As we all know the state, among most of the other 49 states, is near bankruptcy and that means it needs revenues....

I have confirmed through 5 separate sources that they have already begun a sweep that will last far into the middle of the year of all stretches of interstate and most major highways in and around middle georgia

MPD now has a Tahoe or two with radar & BSO has several unmarked Chargers running radar.

I usually drive around 150 miles a day on a decent day...so I do a lot of drivign, today alone I saw JCSO with someone pulled over at 515am, 2 MPD on 75/16 running radar and 2 more with people pulled over, and BSO, GSP, & DOT running radar and scans for tailgaters, illegal lane changes, aggressive driving, etc on 475....5 cars alone from Hartley Bridge to Zebulon rd....which is a 6.5-7 mile stretch

I've also heard that MPD, who normally only ran 1 or 2 radar cars at night will now have from 3-5 cars running radar from 7pm to 7am in various places.

Just a heads up...be smart don't act like an idiot and drive the speed limit

Good info Josh. When times get tough, this kind of shit happens. They will be gunning for anyone that doesnt use a turn signal or speeding 5 miles over. Same thing happened in my county in Florida several years back.
Thanks for the heads up.

Unmarked cars are not allowed to pull people over for traffic stops, according to GA Code 40-8-91, from what I understand.
I'm guessing that they are using the unmarked cars to hide and run radar and call ahead to marked cars to pull them over? If that is the case, then both officers are required to show up in court - if the cited person choses to fight the ticket. Of course, since I-75 is a major artery, it would be easy for them to target out-of-state tags, as those individuals would be much more likely to pay the fine, rather than fight it.

you do realize there are more than one section to every precinct, right?

"real crimes" are handled by detectives while speeding is handled by.....you guessed it....the traffic cops

also with it being a holiday weekend they will be out in force on the major arteries in the state and possibly have some road blocks up tonight and tomorrow and sunday afternoon and night they will be clocking people like crazy so be very careful where you may be going tonight and stay off the interstates if you can for sure, if you are just go with the flow of traffic.
