Ok, so I found this headlight restoration kit at the out parts store today made by a company named Crystal View. This is one the best kits sold and with its step by step instructions you can't go wrong.:goodjob::goodjob::goodjob:

I would refer this kit to any and everybody on IA:cheers:. I will stand behind it with my rep on the line.
I just want to give the company the attention and praise they deserve becuase this valued kit is worth well more than it is sold for.:goodjob::goodjob::goodjob:

This is what the kit looks like at the store and the other pictures are my lights through their progression:boobies:

I used this one on mine, its kind of expensive for what it is at about $25 but it comes with that cool "buffing bit" you put at the end of a drill, I figured I could use it on some rims or whatever else I wanted to polish later on down the road. But it made my headlights look brand new.

Just make sure you either.

1. remove your headlights if you really want to do it perfect
2. Or leave them in and make sure you mask off your paint with some painters tape all around the headlights, if you don't there is a good chance you might polish off your own clearcoat if you aren't very careful.

NOT like the jackoff in the picture below

I use a 2000 or 1000 wet sand paper and a buffer.. It's way better then that kit and a whole lot cheaper!

+1, I use a palm sander with 800, 1500, then 2000 and then buff to perfection with Meguiar's plastic polish. Have to be really careful with a buffer though, as you can very easily burn through the surrounding paint if you decide not to take them off (thus making it 10x harder).

Supplies:
3M P800 Wet or Dry
3M P1000 Wet or Dry
3M P1500 Wet or Dry
3M P2000 Wet or Dry
3M Rubbing Compound: (Can't Remember)
Buffer - Hand (god bless you) or Mechanical
Spray Bottle with clean water
Soft cotton rag

Instructions:
1) Remove Headlight (Recommended)
2) Start sanding (in one direction) dry with the P800 until you can't see through the lens. This step is to remove the damaged (hazed or yellowed) surface.
3) Continue sanding (in a 90 degree angle to the direction in the previous step) WET with the P1000 until the water starts looking like milk.
4) Continue sanding (in a 90 degree angle to the direction in the previous step) WET with the P1500 until the water starts looking like milk.
5) Continue sanding (in a 90 degree angle to the direction in the previous step) WET with the P2000 until the water starts looking like milk.
6) By this step the lens will still have slight haze over them.
7) Buff your lenes with the rubbing compound using your buffer or hand buffer (again god bless you).
8) Using the soft cloth wipe the lens clean, and if all went well they should be looking brand new.

Notes:
When sanding keep in mind, the more you wet sand the better.
When wet sanding try to re-wet the lens as often as possible.
When buffing don't let your buffing pad get dry, keep it moist with compound.
The more you buff the better the results.

Conclusion: Yeah I could have just bought a kit, but the supplies I bought cost me right around the same price and I got more supplies for my money. I had enough supplies left over to do several more vehicles or refinish your brake lights. If you mess up your not you can start over without having to buy additional kits. I feel I got a better end result overall.

What I did is nothing new body shops and many people here have been doing this forever, but this was my first time doing it and this is what I did and my lights look brand new.

If anything I said is wrong or you know a better way of doing it please feel free to correct me.

mostly good advice, but make sure you find some way to seal them up afterward.

rubbing compound and a buffer works and its simple
step1 apply compound to buffer and buff
step2 wipe off
step3 done. lights are clear again

I used the Meguiar kit on my wife's car. Simple and it did a excellent job. And like most ppl said, i taped off around the lights. Its common sense. Hopefully other ppl have that. lol

^they have this product at autozone, advanced, bumper to bumper, walmart(i think). its a quite popular product that hase come out and is worth the price, about $22-$24 with tax and depending on the store. there isint much to waist, and alot to gain.

Dont spend that kinda money, just wet sand with 2000 grit for a long time then buff them. I buffed my friends out for like 2 mins came out good as new.
