People are always talking smack about little d series,
so i went ahead and took the whole 9 yard to build a d series to see what kind of numbers i can get of stock sleeves..
one car that really gave me the urge to start this was that single cam integra.
whats inside...:chuckles:
numbers will be good to
With a few help from people on IA, this car is coming along perfect!
so far.

I think polishing the turbo would add to the sexiness of all your polished pieces. Looks good none-the-less.

what r ur engine specs?

12 psi cause i'll still get good boost and it won't destroy my gas mileage. Im building a d16z6> was going with some ac8a aluminum ycp pistons that took stock compression down from 9.2:1 to 8.5:1. i wanted to remain stock rods but from what im hereing stock rods won't hold 12 pounds. so now im trying to figure what internals i'll go with. if any1 has internals that they're willing to see i have money and im willing to buy. but opinions and previous knowledge is greatly appreciated.

do FJT RODS and vitaras .. the fjt rods are custom made for the vitaras and they bump the compression up a lil more than eagle rods and they are farely cheaper ... perfect for budget d series turbo build .eagle/vitara setup will yeild like 8.0:1 and the FJT/Vitara are like 8.5:1 so your engine doesnt make the deiseling sound when you put the vitaras in the d series engines . hope this helps.

im on a budget build kind of on my single cam. will stock rods hold 12lbs tho any1?Stock rods will prolly hold up 500lbs, maybe more. But if your talking about PSI then it just depends on what size turbo your gonna run.

lmao, reps....
OP, whats the setup?
teggyslayer
04-10-2010, 01:25 PM
an ebay setup lol. sorry meant 12 lbs of boost. what would be a good turbo tho? and i was looking there cause i'd like to get a manifold that's ac friendly

also where would i get fjt rods? and whats the price range cause i found the forged eagles for 200 bnib. but if thats going to prolong the life of my engine and give it a better smother sound i'm willing to go with those

I personally like the eagle h beam rods. I have used them in motor builds over 500 hp with zero issues.

if u can get the eagle rods bnib for $200 and u want them, buy them, just remember your compression will be lower.....

And up the boost more! Generally speaking on a lower compression motor you can run more boost (provided you have good pistons, crank, rods, etc).

h1c,
ive got spray to help it spool quicker
i've read that people have seen full boost by like 5ish on that.
people have seen full boost by 4k with this turbo.

Oh gosh... lol.. He is definately correct.
12psi will be different on a gt35r then what it is on the little ebay 50 trims, with the turbo you are going to be running you will be able to put out around 230whp, reliably on stock rods and such.

For the extra $300 while you have it out, do the rods and call it a day. That is my general philosophy. Better safe than sorry.
