this is a thread ive wanted to start for a good while.... I will start it off and follow my lead, you may choose *ANY ( 1 )* car that you wish, whether it be $200 or 10 million... *CAUTION* this is your one and ONLY car, you will be driving it every day....CHOOSE WISELY....**** PLEASE BE DESCRIPTIVE AND EXPLAIN WHY THIS IS YOUR CHOICE***....dont just say I want a farrari enzo bec its fast or pretty....and dont bash people for thier choices....lets keep this clean and *ADULT* ....ENJOY!

MY CHOICE : Lamborghini Gallardo LP56O-4 *coupe* ( 6 spd manual )

WHY? : To me this car embodies everything I have always wanted, and would always want in a car....it is simply put, the most beautiful body design that I have ever laid my eves on, the power is perfect in my book, not overkill /JUST ENOUGH, the sound gives me chills up my damn spine every time I hear it, AND BEST OF ALL its 4wd and you can drive it anywhere in ANY weather, this is a *pure* drivers car in my book....

Color: Ithaca Verde (Lemon-lime color changing)....mmmmm I love this color

Interior: *ALL* Black with green stitching on the seats, steering wheel, dash, shift boot, etc.....clean and tasteful

Wheels: factory *upgraded* wheels....its a lambo, why mess with awesome wheels?

Exhaust: Kressieg Exhaust, normally I wouldnt mess with this, but this exhaust makes the best sound better for some reason....

Barbados yellow
completely stock

http://media.nextautos.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/02/1989-honda-civic-crx-si-yel.jpg

why?
-I wouldn't be able to afford insurance on a Saleen S7.
-I would get hella good gas mileage.
-It will only go up in value.
-I never see any unmolested crx's let alone one that is yellow.

of course if we are throwing out the idea of the car being something that I actually COULD own...

2006 Saleen S7 TT w/ the competition package!
The car would be painted black with a purple flake!

Why? Because I love everything about the car and the way it looks is just SICK to me. I have loved these since that episode of Top Gear where Jeremy Clarkson drove the black one.

Oh yeah....Gotta be THAT color too.

There is a small description on the S7. :dunno:

and I felt it necessary to post two cars because there is no chance in hell I could drive the S7 down to SPSU everyday. It makes no sense as a college student to own one. :(
So the crx is my choice for my ONE car in my current circumstances.
The S7 is my choice for my ONE car if I win the Lottery tomorrow. lol

1. Aston Martin Vantage V12

My choice would be a Canepa 959. The 959 is my favorite model Porsche. Stock the car already had some pretty scorching specs for a late 80's car, and with the modifications from Canepa, the car turned into a 600hp beast capable of throwing down some serious lap times. Such a beautiful car all around, and the rarity keeps it as one of the most desirable Porsches.

my pick.. Audi RS6 Avant in white

Quattro.. Twin turbo v10

All it needs are a few boltons.. mild suspension upgrades.. a mild tune.. and the same RS4 6 speed swap that MTM did.. and i'm set for an all around daily driver/track car :

In tuned form it can do 0-60 in under 4 seconds and top out over 200MPH.. all while hauling a load of crap in the back

The Vantage was gonna be my pick but I have something better. Sure there are better cars than what I about to present but this thing has my eyes set on it. You never said it had to be a street car. :taun: I can ride a bicycle as a DD.

Honda HSV-010 GT

It is a perfect car. It has the power, performance, and looks built to be pushed to the limit. Even better, it still has room to for customization in the aesthetics department. It would be a great platform to create your own look. Not to mention, look at the fitment on that damn thing.

NSX-R GT

I love Honda's, and this is as good as they get.

The NSX just seems like the perfect car to own to own for me. You get supercar looks and exclusivity, but also the accessibility, reliability, and aesthetics of the Honda/Acura brand. I know that there are faster cars, and better handling cars, but frankly I don't really care.

Why the R GT? Because it's the rarest and was absurdly expensive for what it was. And I love that.

Here is the Race History

http://www.racingsportscars.com/chassis/photo/F1GTR-027R.html

Here is the exact history.

http://www.racecar.com/carsinternational/stock/mclarenf1gtr.htm

McLaren F1 GTR Chassis Number 27R

McLaren F1 GTR, chassis number 27R was built for David Morrison, owner of Parabolica Motorsport at the end of 1996 for the 1997 FIA GT Series. It was the last customer car sold of six for the 1997 season, three Gulf cars, two Schnitzer cars and 27R, the Parabolica car. The team planned to compete in the British GT Championship in 1997 and at the first round at Silverstone the team was totally dominant. Drivers Chris Goodwin and Gary Ayles destroyed the whole field, winning by over a lap. McLaren F1 GTR, chassis 27R becoming the first long tail car to win a race in history.

Parabolica’s victory was so easy that the team changed its plans immediately and entered the FIA GT Championship instead. The first race was again at Silverstone and again Goodwin and Ayles were dominant in 27R. At half distance the pair were leading the race but luck was not on their side. Just after their last pitstop with other front runners still out, the race was red flagged, dropping 27R to sixth place and robbing them of a certain podium and probable victory. 27R was the only privateer car to lead a race during the 1997 season. Chris Goodwin considers McLaren F1 GTR Long Tail, chassis 27R to be the most striking liveried F1s of all time - in all its guises. The black and pink colours that Team Lark ran the car in at the 1997 Le Mans 24 Hours, the yellow and blue Warsteiner colours it ran in that year’s FIA GT Championship and finally, and most strikingly the livery in which it remains to this day – the Verve Cliquot, McLaren Papaya Orange.

McLaren F1 GTR 27R is ready to be entered in some of the most important events around the world. The car has been a regular at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, and would make an important addition to any collection. The car would be a race winner in the right hands in the GT 90 Championship. McLaren F1 GTR 27R comes complete with a comprehensive spares package which includes assorted bodywork, various gear ratios and transmission parts, driveshafts, axles and other drive train spares. Dampers, wishbones, springs, rockers, struts and anti roll bars. Brake callipers, discs, mounting bells and pads, and various engine spares including cam cover, flywheel damper and con rods. To this day there is nothing to match the sophistication of the McLaren F1 – It is the ultimate modern supercar. Just one hundred cars were built and of these only twenty-eight were F1 GTRs.

When ‘Octane’ magazine asked 50 ‘players’ in the historic car world what was their all time favourite car, the McLaren F1 was practically the default choice. Octane’s January 2009 edition has the headline on the cover, “£2.5 million McLaren F1 Is this the new 250 GTO?” Their editorial states, “…it was left to the showroom-fresh McLaren F1 to astonish everyone by doubling its pre-sale estimate with a final bid of £2,530,000. ‘The new Ferrari GTO’ was the buzz around the room.”

A McLaren F1 is a very rare car to come to market – the few owners lucky enough to have one of these iconic supercars cherish them too much. Recent market trends prove that McLaren F1, 27R is not only an important and historically significant racing car, being the first Long Tail GTR to win a race, but that it is also a blue chip investment.

Chris Goodwin, McLaren Automotive’s Chief Test Driver said of this car. “I have driven most of McLaren’s Formula 1 cars and all the road cars and 27R still ranks alongside Senna’s 93 F1 car as the best car I have ever driven.”

Maybe the color is off but as a closed cockpit or open cockpit car, it was the best front mounted LMP of the 90's and 00's.
Btw, most Panoz interior parts are of an SN95 Mustang so i don't get the Cavalier bit.

The interiors just look so cheap to me. Most American vehicles have cheap interiors that I have seen. The Cavalier statement was referring to having a nice great looking and performing car like a Corvette, but have a shitty interior. Even if it is to save weight, it shouldn't look cheap for a car in that price range. I have only been inside of a couple Panoz street cars and seen a few others online. As for it's performance I am not talking shit on it. These cars are more than capable. I just think it is so ugly, even for a functional race car. It's just an opinion solely based on aesthetics.

Idk... 0-60 in 3 seconds doesn't sound too bad to me. Plus the rumored top speed of 250+ mph is nice to think about. I LOVE the look of it and the fact that the targa top can be put away under the hood lol

It's fast, light, looks good, it's environmental friendly, and it has a targa top :D

Idk... 0-60 in 3 seconds doesn't sound too bad to me. Plus the rumored top speed of 250+ mph is nice to think about. I LOVE the look of it and the fact that the targa top can be put away under the hood lol

16 mpg FTW!!!

GREAT EXPLANATION!!!!! BADASS = YES!!!!, environmentally friendly? = how so? its a super-car! LOL

I think I'd have to go with the Panoz GTR-1 road car. It's been my favorite for a long time, it's extremely rare, Panoz is what got me deeply interested in sports cars, the car is strange and beautiful, I could go on.

I've loved that car for along time, always makes me think of the batmobile though, lol.

and i think im gonna have to switch my Noble M600 for the old M400,its more my style.

Very nice choices people. I actually have a more realistic pick.

If I could pick a car to own the rest of my life and to use as a daily it would be a 09 M5 in all black.

It would be a great car to have as an all around good daily. You can drive it to the store and then get a good bit of power on your way there/home. And also gain a lot of attention from others. This would be perfect if I planed on taking the kids around in it.

i'm sure someone will flame me for this but i'd take the lexus LFA.
reasons: i absolutely love it. the design is beautiful, it's extremely well engineered, the sound of the motor just gets me. it's rediculously fast, and fun (i would assume) to drive. at the end of the day, it's a lexus, so i know i'll be reasonably comfortable and it won't be too much to handle, since it would be my sole car.

yes you're right it doesn't add up. but the people that are willing to pay that price, are the ones that really want it. not the people that go out and say i'm gonna spend X amount of money give me the fastest flashiest blah blah blah, i can get. they buy the LFA because they want THAT particular car. which is why i would get it. i love it for what it is. i think it's beautiful, and it's got everything i would want. sure for the money i could have something much faster in a straight line, higher top speed, quicker through the corners etc. but the LFA just exemplifies what i want in such a way that no other car does.

Still unhappy? Lets talk about 40mpg. With that much power!! Did I mention its a hybrid with Hydrogen Fuel Injection?

These "people that are gonna buy it" Talk about some of the most ridiculous things you have to go through to lease to own a car.

Autoblog:
The monthly lease payment on the Lexus LFA is $12.398.44. For 24 months. That's $297,562.56 worth of lease payments over two years, at the end of which you own nothing. However, Lexus is quick to point out that the LFA's MSRP is $375,000, so you're technically not paying full price. And at the end of 24 months, lessees are free to plunk down an additional $93,750 (more than the base price of a very comparable Nissan GT-R, we should mention) and buy their LFA outright.

Of course, you can't just waltz into your local Lexus dealership with $12,398.44 and rocket waltz out in an LFA. Lexus has to actually select you to lease its (admittedly awesome) car. Once you're chosen, you've got 10 days to drop off a $10,000 deposit at your local Lexus dealer and submit to a credit check. We should mention that this will not be the only deposit and credit check Lexus requires.

Once your credit checks out, you then have to deposit an additional $50,000. To mini-recap, that's $60,000 down on a $375,000 car. Sounds reasonable (from a detached, algebraic ratio perspective) until you remember that you're not buying the car, just leasing it. All of this will be/is happening from March–June 2010. Production of the LFA doesn't start until December. We don't know how long each car will take to build, but customers lessees will be required to go through a second credit check immediately prior to delivery. We're not entirely sure you really want to pass the second credit check. Here's why.

Remember the $12,398.44 per month lease payment we mentioned a couple paragraphs up? That's just the breakdown. All LFAs are being doled out via Lexus' 1Pay Lease Program. Meaning that to lease the LFA, you hand Lexus a check for $237,562.56, which is the full amount of the lease minus your $60,000 pair of deposits. Oh, and there's a $700 "aquisition fee." Plus tax, title, license and registration. The good news? Even though you have to lease the LFA, because of the lengthy approval/deposit process, each car is still made to order. Meaning that even though you don't own the car, you can still order it in Passionate Pink, a $3,000 option.

yeah i'm fully aware of the lease to own process. (it is a bit over the top, but the exclusivity [sp?] would be pretty kick ass once you've jumped through all the flaming hoops) but the point of this thread is money and all that set aside. ANY one car. that would be my choice. and i'm sure that someone in the financial position to throw that kind of money around for a car, wouldn't really miss it too much.

yeah that's the reasoning i've heard behind it.

and yes the FXX stays with ferrari, however the will deliver it to a track day for you to drive it, and then promptly take it back once you're done.

Sure, it doesn't look as good as the Pontiac G8, but it makes the most incredible noises. It has four doors, a proper trunk, you can drive it daily and be very comfortable, then you can stomp the pedal and love your investment every day of the week. I'd call in sick to work just to go driving around. Here it is on Top Gear, enjoy the noise.

I would Definatly go with the Henessy Viper ACR.

*Looks awesome, Side exhaust turns me on.
*Pull up to almost anything at a redline, you win.
*Amazing downforce, would be a killer track car for the weekends.
*Twin Turbo's.
*1000HP, 1100 ft/lbs, runs 2.9 0-60, Top speed of 255 mph, and one of the few cars that can spank the Veyron in just about every category.
*The Viper series has been my favorite car line for a long time, and this car tops it off.

I'm tempted to change my original response. I don't think I could bring myself to DD a 69 Camaro, as much as I love them I would really want it to me my weekend toy just to show off in. I loved the VXR8 Bathurst since I saw it on Top Gear, I like the styling more than the G8 and the loud pedal is just crazy. I'd love the chance to drive one of these.

2009 BMW M5. 4 doors, 4 seats, comfortable, V-10 with a 8,500 RPM redline. 500 hp. Handles well, looks good, and with the Meisterschaft exhaust system that makes the damn thing sound like a Ferrari V8.

Thanks, I agree with the '69 Camaro, it's so beautiful, but I wouldn't want any wear and tear on it. I know that I'd have a dozen cars in the garage that I'd never drive if I ever had the money, I think I'd drive a VXR8 or even a G8, it's a good everyday, with a bite.

Hands down for me would be a BAN III car with the 605 hp LS7. One of the baddest cars on the road. Year one took one of the coolest looking cars in history and gave it a modern suspension and power plant. The second I can afford a 100k car, I will be buying the year one bandit.

Probably a 98 GTS Viper, or a new ACR. I can't really decide but they're two of the same model so it's ok.

Reason? I want my car to just be me and a v10. Vipers have a ballsy feel no other car matches, it's so basic and simple yet the performance is amazing. I doubt I would enjoy anything more.
