For sure.

I'm listing off some of the bands that had a great run in the 90s and either broke up shortly thereafter or just starting sucking.
Jawbreaker, Refused, Helmet, Pennywise, Foo Fighters, Sponge, Soul Coughing, Face to Face, Local H, Smashing Pumpkins, Reel Big Fish, Sublime, Hum, Fugazi.

But more often when i think 90s, I think of the shit like Third Eye Blind, STP, Pearl Jam, old Korn, none of which would be considered musical highpoints for the decade.

Also really like Saves the Day, Counting Crows, Get up Kids, Incubus, MxPx, RHCP, Social Distortion, Tom Petty, Bare Naked Ladies.

Is your google broken? (http://tinyurl.com/ycveo4y) They're still around, just came out with a new cd a year or two back, but they havent had a song on the radio since Molly or a big hit since Plowed. I'd say they were one of the most underrated bands of the 90s pop rock scene, Plowed still gets airplay on quite a few stations
